I spoke with the remaining finalist, Jeff Rogers this morning, he still hasn't heard back from anyone at Elysian Fields.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are re-opening the search and/or if Rogers himself withdrew his name from consideration.

My email to superintendent Maynard Chapman have not been returned.

And, Michael Garland, of our staff reported this just a few minutes ago.

Elysian Fields has re-opened the search, that's confirmed.

And, Blue Ridge assistant coach Jeff Rogers had not heard from anyone at Elysian Fields as of 11:30am today.

I spoke with Gary Don Moore this afternoon and he was told by Elysian Fields I.S.D. superintendent Maynard Chatman on Tuesday he was no longer in the running to be the new AD/Head Football Coach at Elysian Fields.

Moore, who is an assistant in the Plano I.S.D. system connected to Plano West High School, and the other finalist Jeff Rogers, assistant coach at Blue Ridge, were under the impression there were only two finalists.

When I spoke with Rogers on Wednesday afternoon, he said, "I haven't spoken with or heard from the superintendent and/or anyone on the search committee at Elysian Fields since late last week." Rogers continued, "I was told last week they would meet on Monday and/or Wednesday night to approve or discuss a recommendation, but as of right now I haven't heard from anyone."

Rogers, once an assistant coach at Waco Robinson under Lee Fedora has also been an offensive coordinator at Navasota and Lexington. He then moved to the Dallas area to be closer to critical health care for his son. But, his son's health improved and Rogers is now free to search elsewhere.

Now, with Jeff Rogers saying he hasn't heard from anyone since late last week, that might also open up the possibility Elysian Fields re-opens the coaching search, or they just haven't told him because they themselves don't have an answer.

Legendary coach G.A. Moore told me on Tuesday his son, Gary Don, received a call and he's no longer in the running for the job at Elysian Fields.

I'm being told by solid sources that Blue Ridge Assistant Coach Jeff Rogers and Gary Don Moore, an assistant coach in the Plano West system are the two finalists for the AD/Head Football coaching position at Elysian Fields.

There is a regularly scheduled school board meeting tonight, discussion on who they will recommend will most likely be involved and if no confirmation tonight, look for Wednesday.
