L-E girls win crown

 

LINDALE, Texas—Liberty-Eylau won four gold medals in the field events to build an early lead en route to its first team title at the Eagle Relays Friday at Lindale High School. L-E edged host Lindale, 142-108.

 

Shaniqua Barnes won the triple jump (37-9); Brea Greene the shot put and discus (37-6 and 120-6); and Nikah Hatcher the long jump (16-4 1/2). Amber Tatum was second in the high jump at 5-2.

 

The Lady Leopards suffered a setback when they were disqualified in the 4x100 relay for a false start. Alexis Ambures won the 100 hurdles in 15.25, and the 4x200 contingent of Courtney Williams, Hatcher, Jana Williams and Shanetria Thomas won in an area-best 1:42.10. Desira Willis won the 400 in 1:03.9, and L-E ran an area-best in the 4x400 with Hatcher, Willis, J. Williams and Thomas clocking 4:05.0.

 

Ciera Dixon was second in the 100 (12.70) and third in the 200 (26.5). Tatum was second in the 300s (48.3).

Anyone know how the varsity boys turned out @ Lindale ? Congratulations to L-E girls.

 

 

Varsity BoysTeam points 1) Atlanta 166 JV - LE, Lindale and SS were top 3 (same teams)

2) Sulphur Springs 126 not sure after that

3) LE 87

4) Lindale 79

5) Henderson 76

6) Canton 47

7) Carthage 27

8) Gilmer 12
