  1. The three interceptions in one dreadful April 10 scrimmage ^if that was an intrasquad scrimmage and he threw three picks against that defense, he's got a LONG way to go to fill Harrell's shoes...
  2. They didnt know what was going on, we went to the middle of the field around second base and tried to handle it with little or no drama. There were some heated moments, but it was handled reasonably well. When the Overton coach said that he couldn't wait to play them again the Jacksonville guy said that they could have their own game right then and there.
  3. You need to pay more attention in class - specifically english...
  4. The game was in New London.... It was pretty funny, before the game we went out and talked with the opposing mgr to confirm that the 7 run limit would be enforced and that the time limit would be 1 1/2 hour. He said "where ya'll from" when he heard Overton, he kinda smirked - i could tell he thought he was going to win. Coulda been worse than it was... The other team was from Jacksonville. I know their are rules and they should be followed, but being this nit-picky is..... well....
  5. I know this is the wrong section, but I need opinions... Last night two local little league teams squared off in the first game of a tournament being held this weekend. It was a pretty typical big-town v. small community battle and the small community won 14-4. After the game the losing coach pulled out his dixie league rule book and declared himself the winner because the other team only had 9 players (must have 11). To top it off, the losing team was the home team and was down 14-2 going into the bottom of the last inning. Since there is a 7 run rule, the game was already decided, but the winning mgr decided, at the losing mgrs request, to go ahead and play the bottom half for the kids - effectively burning up innings for a pitcher (clearly a nice gesture). What are your thoughts?? The final ruling was that since this wasn't a "postseason" tournament the rule would not be used and the deserving team would get their win and rightfully so. IMO the losing mgr made a uknowhat out of himself and acted like a MEOW... Is this the kind of example he wants to set for his kids - if your best effort leaves you in defeat, try and find some loophole to claim victory - SAD.. Oh the kids are 9 and 10 year old...
  6. My point exactly.... Especially one from the south.....
  7. Come on Dave...... The Yankees????
  8. I can only judge them off of last year, and as I stated, they were the only team to go undefeated and donkey-stomped the same Bama team that gave Florida all the wanted.... I didnt know they backed out of the Texas game, but that has no bearing on 2008 - good to know though
  9. Texas or USC to name a few - maybe Utah.... Utah was the 2008 National Champion in my mind - undefeated with a 31-17 bowl win against a Bama team that gave Florida all they wanted a few weeks earlier...
  10. That's the funniest thing i've ever heard on smoaky.... Late on a paper huh???? HILARIOUS!!!!!! When was the last time YOU left a girl at home for being late on a research paper??? That would be a little unethical wouldn't it, considering the UIL says no pass no play is the rule (every six weeks)..... ^^Funny Stuff^^ Let's not even open the can of worms that is coaches in the classroom....
  11. Did you hear that????? It was the point of the jab sailing OVER YOUR HEAD......
  12. The flip side LV is I've seen and played with thousands of golfers and a lot of times, the better athlete is not the better golfer. I lettered in FB 3 years and baseball all four and got my brains kicked in by plenty of guys who couldn't even sprint forty yards or catch a lobbed football from 10 yards. There is nothing even remotely athletic about standing over a downhill 6 footer that breaks left to right on fast greens with some cash on the line.... It doesnt make a hill of beans how fast, strong or agile one is when facing such a putt under pressure.
  13. So if you need athleticism to excel in golf, one would assume that the majority of golfers are athletes - right??
  14. Second to none? Go check the driving stats on tour... hint bubba watson... Jack Nicklaus was a more powerful player (his long iron game is a testament to that), Cabrera is a stronger player, as is Watson, there are a couple of others as well. I guess we can just agree to disagree...
