just got a little upset with umpire but no injury.

overton comes from behind to beat crossroads 6-5. very good game from both sides.

bowie did play overton well, just couldn't get any runs to back up the defense.

didn't know that and don't know much about the player either. who has crossroads played besides cayuga, that is state ranked?

no disrespect either but i have seen crossroads and cayuga play and don't think they are much better than some of the teams overton has played this year, harleton and white oak and james bowie (8-0) haven't seen where these teams have been tested. only team both has played was carlisle which crossroads beat 10-6 and which overton beat in district play twice 27-4 & 13-3, so really no telling the outcome but one thing for sure their will be alot of green and white on the field and in the stands. but will have to go with overton in 2 games. have to agree to me also looks like it will come down between overton and cayuga, don't know what kind of pitching cayuga has but the one young man, but overton has about six pitchers that are very good, but also never know who the darkhorse may be either.

Don't know how everyone else feels about overton, but saw overton beat a very good harleton team, then in a warm up game against another power house 2A team white oak they also won. Think at that time both of these teams were ranked in the top 5 in 2A. Haven't seen where any of the other teams in the playoffs have beaten teams with as much talent as white oak and harleton. pretty easy round in the first round for overton, next with crossroads will be tougher, saw crossroads play, they are a talented bunch, but don't think they are as good as white oak or harleton, so will have to say the road to state has to go thru overton.

well two is better than a whole team. sorry forgot but no matter it will be decided by the players, either from one side of the earth or the other.

I know from along time ago and i mean long ago the papers would pay a school student to do the reporting for their home school and to send in the information for the paper, i did a few while i was in high school but like i said that was a long time ago. I think this would be a very good idea to bring back to the area high schools.

well for anyone that likes baseball this ought to be a very good match up. overton has alot of pitching and every single player can put the ball in play. are all of BH'S players home grown like overton's players or scattered from all over?

what kind of team do they (BH) have?

Hard to find baseball district standings in any of the newspapers around east texas, maxpreps is pretty good but not all teams turn in information. just wandering if anyone knew of a web page that had this information.

looks like overton and carlisle and proably hawkins in the first round setting for playoff positions. would think it will end up that way when all is said and done unless beckville can surprise hawkins.

First round ended for overton tonight in waskom. overton ended up 7-0 for the first round of district play. How did all other teams fair in district? Hard to keep up with all standings when it is hard to find scores.
