I was actually proud of Gilmers crowd last night. I think we had more there than our last two home games. As for Gladewater, it looked like there folks loaded up and went to the Yamboree.
-
I can't believe there is still talk about the stadium for gosh sake. My seat was great. I liked it so much I'll sit in it again Friday night. As for the band.....they are right where they need to be.
-
They must have changed it then. Info I got says Thursday at 6:30. That bums me out. Was ready for some 6-man
-
So once in our history the band has been a problem. That was Saturday night. The visitors rarely bring capacity crowds to see the beating that they will endure. Saturday was an anomaly. I really thought there was a chance they would put the band in the endzone but they didn't. It's a mute point now. Probably won't be a problem for a long time to come.
-
It wasn't a move. Did you not see the sign above them that said " Gilmer High School Marching Band" Jeez, do you think we moved them over there just for y'all? If so you think way to much of yourselves.Crappymove putting your home band on the visitors side

I do not know but it was actually cancelled several weeks before they were to play.
-
I'm just meddling. It was pretty quiet at the end of the half, but when Cathage made it 28-21 the decibal level went up. And after the onside kick......well I really don't want to relive that moment.🙄....Toldya, HearemaGrowlin...😜

The #2 ranked Union Hill Bulldogs have a home game on Thursday night starting at 6:30. Personally I have never seen a 6-man game in person. This will be my first. For anyone interested this should be fun.

I thought our band sounded really good!!! LolSadly, Bulldog fans admit on many football Fridays our fans are pretty reserved.
Â
Our fans will collectively on occasion get loud, but it usually has to be a pretty special game to truly get the Dawg faithful very loud.
Â
Gilmer got us pretty loud I believe.
Â
Can any of the Gilmer fans who attended the game give us a rating on the decibel level from the Carthage crowd Saturday night?
-
Our linebackers are very very good.......and stopping the run has been our Achilles......that doesn't really go together real well?20+ to graduation, lost most of the skilled positions and we are replacing them with sophomores. Our linebackers are very very good. Secondary has been pretty good, stopping the run especially mobile QBs, have been our Achilles.
-
Nac must have lost a decent class last year. If I remember correctly, they played us a very good game.
-
LolololI am a homer so of course I am biased.
Â
I am in no way saying Carthage has a bad defense. One good half against Gilmer is impressive and they only put up 28 points total. We still have that game to play and this one. LE won't put up 38 points on us nor will Gilmer put up 28.
-
There is a lot of respect between these 2. I twas good to see the players embrace before they even lined up for the handshake.A very impressive thing happened when the whistle blew & the Fat Lady started...both sides didn't head for their bench...they were shaking each other's hand & bumping...two worthy teams with a common respect.
Â
Dawgs are my second favorite team.
-
Shutdown I won't argue a bit. Surratt did what he does. And if it wasn't him kudos to the DC. And I know the game wasn't over at half.......but it was crickets at halftime. We played well for 2 1/2 quarters. We got beat. Like I said earlier......I hope we are pulling for each other in December.
-
I wasn't embarrassed. Hell I was proud of the way we played. Had a rough 4th quarter to say the least. But embarrassing.....not even a little bit.Carthage snapped the Bucs 29 game home win streak and embarrassed the high powered Gilmer offense in 2nd half. They gonna be #### and will be looking to take out their anger in the Dragons.
Â
Gilmer wins 62-24.
-
No way. Nac has fallen off that much?56-7 Bux
-
That's better. At least they are happy to have you!!!How about the Pine Tree stadium?

got to be Tyler. I hope we never play in Longview again. And there could be a chance we don't. Lots of problems the last few games. Where most want you to come to their stadium, it seems like for Longview it is an inconvenience. If the series continues I hope the coaches agree on playing at a larger venue instead of home and home.
Â
Sell more tickets make more money.
-
No sir. The night we played Gladewater we were there a couple hours before that game started. And if you were there.....you know why.
-
Other than the last post I'm over my bad mood on a game that we either a)gave away or b) Carthage took from us or c) what I prefer, some of both of a and b. Proud of the way we played. Most thought we would be blowed out. 20 points was a large deficit but we lead when the 4th started. Just not for long.
Kudos to Carthage. I hope we both make it to Jerry's House. And I hope your playing Argyle because it could be epic. Much respect from Jubilant!!!
-
So when Longview says the gates open at 5 and then they open at 5:15 and the concessions are even ready it's ok. But when we say the gates open at 5 and they do we ####. LmaoYou know... there's alot to be said about making people who Bought tickets to this event having to stand outside in the Heat, rather than allowing them to go in & SIT; Thanks Upshur County folks! It made handing Gilmer their first loss at home since 2010 THAT MUCH. SWEETER!😜
-
Lol 7100 is capacity. Fans, sidelines, bands, players, coaches, parking lot attendant, concession stands......you get my driftNo way this stadium sits 7100
-
Pretty sure he has them labeled as Carthage homers...... Gilmer Super Homers....and Harlen And Bob idiots....... although the last 2 could potentially be flip flopped
