2008 Canton High School graduate Keavon Milton will be playing in the Super Bowl for the Seattle Seahawks this weekend. Milton started his pro career with the Saints after playing for ULM in college. He wears number 66 and is a reserve O-lineman.

When talking of Canton's mediocrity, one needs to examine the overall ISD over the last decade, not the success of one year of football. I can promise that after you examine this, most on here would be proud to have their son or daughter graduate from Canton High School. Multiple play-off teams, all sports, boys and girls. Academics rank amoung the best in the state (one of only 3 Exemplary 3A ISDs in the State). Ranked in the Top 1000 High Schools in the U.S. (U.S. News and World Report). SAT/ACT scores are off the charts. Band has multiple State Championships. UIL has multiple State Qualifiers every year. Do some research before making a declaration that Canton settles for mediocrity.

Canton will be OK. Just gonna take a little time. Very inexperienced team. Less than 10 kids on the roster with any Friday Night playing time. Patience!!!

Soderquist has always liked the double wing and thought it would be a good fit for the kids at Huntington. Great job of going out and hiring a guy who knows the system that he wants to run!!

AD/HFC last year. Whole town revolves around boys basketball and softball. Still think they are Class B state champions in basketball. They havent made the play-offs in basketball but one time since 1986 and yet they are a "basketball school."

Football did not kill the basketball program. What killed the basketball program, and all other programs for that matter, is jumping from 1A to 3A in just a few years. They made this jump while still having 1A talent. Not to mention the 3A districts that are around there are loaded.

Have heard they are probably gonna hire from within. A hometowner that has coached there a while. Great community and people. Great kids, as far as attitiude and discipline. Just ZERO talent.

Brownsboro and Mabank have clinched with Brownsboro probably district champs. They have defeated Mabank twice. Athens and Canton are tied at 5-4 and have split with each other. If they finish with the same record, they will have a playoff for third.
