Where are Obama's fans and defenders?

So, you'll support him no matter what for four years? You are so easy.

I supported Dubya for 8 years because he was the leader of the nation. I may not of agreed with the issues such as the Iraq War but, I supported it when we got in there and also don't like the idea of pulling out of Iraq either.

There would not be anything getting done in that period of time because of it would of been a Republican president trying to get things done with a Democratic office.

At least we might have felt he was trying to get something done for the good of the country. I am still waiting for you to tell us what barry has done that is good and right for the country.

My point exactly.

But in any case, nothing being done beats heck out of the wrong things being done.

Defend him then -- tell us what he has done that is good. No questions about 'what-ifs' I want to know just what he has done right so far, because I am not seeing it. I want him to do well, I just don't think it is possible.

First order, acknowledging that we need to do something with the ecomony. We have a stimulus bill (though not yet complete and has a lot of flaws in it) and are at least working on it. I like that part of the bill is going towards infrastructure, money for colleges/universities.

I also at least like the fact that he straight up and acknowleded that he made mistakes with the appointments with Dashcle and etc.

I want him to do well also. If it's not possible, then we will elect someone else in 2012

Do you have any idea why Colleges and Universities are so expensive? Could it be because the federal government got involved and now almost everyone goes to Colleges and Universities?

Supply and demand. Money follows scarce resources. A drastic increase in demand causes a drastic increase in price. I expect more government money poured into the system to do the same.

Again, there was nothing "straight up" about Obama's admission of error. It's not his job to vet his picks. He has a staff to do that. Of course the responsibility is his, it always belongs to the President. The admission was superfluous, and cost him nothing. And it gave those not quite paying attention something they could latch onto to say his administration is "transparent".

Answer this: If he "screwed up" like he said, why was Daschle the fourth appointment with tax problems? Does Obama not learn from his mistakes?

Are you aware that problems with the economy are more like to 'work themselves out' without help from the government? This stimulous bill (and I give it that name very loosely) will probably do very little to help and will very likely compound the problem. The tax incentives are there for those who make very little and therefore can only put very little back into the economy, so where is the stimulous?

Any other examples of his 'doing something good? And I agree with AB, if you finally apologize and only for the 4th in a long line of mistakes, what good is it?

Breaking news:"A failure to act, and act now, will turn crisis into a catastrophe and guarantee a longer recession, a less robust recovery, and a more uncertain future," Obama said in his prepared remarks.

In remarks at the White House, Obama argued that recalcitrant lawmakers need to get behind his approach, saying the American people embraced his ideas when they elected him president in November.

Does anyone remember voting for the unification of powers in the last election?

Well... in the words of Rahm Emanuel, "We don't want to waste a good emergency."

Note to TT. All the Republican bashing in the world won't answer the question posed in my thread topic. Fact is, I've yet to meet a Republican who is disappointed McCain lost. Now, don't put that TT spin on that comment. Didn't say they were happy your boy got in, just that they weren't upset McCain is not President.

Answer my question or stop hijacking the thread. That is now a violation of the SDC rules.

How regrettable, that we can not have our cake and eat it too! How then would you have it? You vote NO to McCain and NO to Obama. Yet you think that you have a right to complain or rail the people that supported either.

I really did not feel that I hijacked this thread by answering a question that was posed to me. But if this ring around the roses carousel is your attempt at making a point, then I may well be guilty.

I stood pat through eight years of "W", but you refuse to accept two weeks of an alternative office holder. There are no people responding here because of your doom and gloom attitude and the way you rail on any one who dares look in and comment. You ought to begin accepting it that you won't ever be happy. Part two, the people that pat you on the back now will abandon you when the light comes on and they realize that you don't have an answer, just complaints.

Why don't you quit being such a whiner.

Your topic is entitled: Where are Obama's fans and defenders?

Here I am <-------------- fan/defending the president elect.

Okay, now you've violated two of the new rules for the political threads.

1) Hijacking my thread

2) Name-calling

You have repeatedly assured us you DID NOT vote for Obama in the general election, thus, this thread doesn't involve you. We're you lying or just drunk again?

You have also insisted on making the thread not only about you, but about John McCain. If you will read closely, you will find there is nothing mentioned about John McCain in the thread topic. It involves Obama and those who supported him in the election.

Get off your elitist high horse and stop hijacking my thread (is that 3 or 4 times I've now asked you to do that?).

Clinton had a Republican Congress and more got done in that administration than in just about any time leading up to that. In contrast, Bush had a Republican Congress for six years, and the democrats played obstructionist politics and prevented many bills from being voted on.

You don't get out much do you?

1.) If that was the case, then there would be no need to worry about the econmony. The economony is too far gone to just sit back and let it "fix itself".

What I stated even previously is that even though there are many flaws in the stimulus plan, we at least we have an idea in place and that with changes the plan might become more stronger. The Republicans need to get in Obama's ear because Obama is willing to adhere to them.

Folks need to remember that economy is bad due to BOTH parties making mistakes. Republicans incrased the size of the federal gov't while the Democrats ridiciously spend like they were at a mall

1) I didn't vote NO on McCain. I voted for him. And rest assured, I have EVERY right to complain.

2) You haven't defended anything. All you've done is rant about my candidate. You can dodge the thread topic all you want, but so far, you haven't taken it up and done what was ask.

3) What do you mean "...refuse to accept two weeks of an alternative office holder."? I have pointed out things your boy has done since he has been in office that will have a diliterious affect on me, my family, and America as a whole.

"Doom and Gloom"? Your boy has been preaching doom and gloom since November. He's appointed crooks to help run his already failed administration and negotiated on the sly with our enemies.

Answers? I have answers. You just don't want to accept them because they don't fit into your idea of what a government should be. My answer is that it should be as unobtrusive as possible. So far, Mr. Obama has promised to do nothing but grow our government until it is so big, Big Brother will look nondiscript.

Those who pat me on the back will continue to do so, as they see things, and you, the same as I do.

Yes. While Sen. McCain isn't as conservative as I like Republicans to be, he dang sure isn't a socialist... as this failed administration is.

Point taken in that regard.

However I was talking about was would McCain be able to get his policies through this Congress; I highly doubt that.

I'll type slowly.

Clinton had a Republican Congress. Your liberal democrats have boldly touted all the progress that came out of that body since then.

Did you miss that? I figured you did since you deleted that part of my comment. Do I need to repeat it again?

Hmmm. You "stood pat" but all we have are complaints.

Aside from the expected letting yourself off the hook, how did you "st[and] pat"? I believe you were quite the whiner. (But I'm sure it was constuctive whining, not just complaints)

I don't believe anyone said they didn't accept the office holder. Obama is the President. He's my President. And I reserve the right to point out stupid political maneuvers, poor decisions, and dishonesty. I'm kind of hoping I can point out some things he does right. So far, nothing occurs to me.

I ask you for the second time in this thread: Am I not allowed to criticize the President because the candidate I like didn't make it to the general election? That certainly appears to be what you're saying. Maybe if I had picked McCain in Iowa, I could complain?

In any case, the solution to the economic slowdown is not all that difficult. The solution was found by Kennedy, by Reagan, and by George W. Bush. I know how. Obama knows how. Even you probably know how. But Obama won't do it until he is forced to, regardless of the pain felt by the population.

1) I didn't vote NO on McCain. I voted for him. And rest assured, I have EVERY right to complain. Yet you and your buds are happy that he lost.(by your statement)

2) You haven't defended anything. All you've done is rant about my candidate. You can dodge the thread topic all you want, but so far, you haven't taken it up and done what was ask. My first statement was, "I am not one of the people that you challenged!" No where have you ever seen me say that I supported or planned to vote for Obama before he was elected. You know that I have always held that we (meaning we the people) should hold him accountable. Now that he is "OUR" president, I do support him and "OUR" country, even though you would preserve it(our country) and any rights for the few that you choose. I am still here standing on what I have said all along. If you take the bait and withdraw your support for the country, you will empower this administration to do just as you fear.

3) What do you mean "...refuse to accept two weeks of an alternative office holder."? I have pointed out things your boy has done since he has been in office that will have a diliterious affect on me, my family, and America as a whole. This negative affect that you trumpet has yet to be seen. All of the economists and pundits do not agree on what the correct path is. You as well as the current admin. have trumpeted the dire economic situation that you blame him for exploiting now. I would as many others would prefer to see some tax relief as opposed to pork. I dreadfully fear the impact of completing the bailout. I have agreed as a citizen to support the policy that comes out of Washington. I support spending for the infrastructure which includes roads, bridges, and power grid.

"Doom and Gloom"? Your boy has been preaching doom and gloom since November. He's appointed crooks to help run his already failed administration and negotiated on the sly with our enemies. The enforcers of the past admin. had just as graet a sordid past and present as any thing that has come to light here so far. The question is whether they will they be reigned in as Bush's were not.

Answers? I have answers. You just don't want to accept them because they don't fit into your idea of what a government should be. My answer is that it should be as unobtrusive as possible. So far, Mr. Obama has promised to do nothing but grow our government until it is so big, Big Brother will look nondiscript. But you were overjoyed with the multiplication of government under our past admin. Do you not believe that government can be made to be efficient?

Those who pat me on the back will continue to do so, as they see things, and you, the same as I do."Misery loves company", so I will concede that point to you.

Again, no policy change is better than the wrong change.

Government monetary policy changed a recession in 1929 into the Great Depression. If nothing had been done, the depression would not have happened. Period.

For the record, TiggerTerror made 21 posts in 2008 before the election. All the posts were in High School Football.

Most were fairly obnoxious. None mentioned undying love for Obama. My guess is he formed a bond immediately after the election.

It is interesting that you would venture to propose no action in a thread where the theme is, "What has your boy done?"

Not calling you out, it's just interesting that you would infer that not acting too quickly could be a possible scenario. Certainly that would not be the popular position here.
