District 18-2A

If you are a parent who is concerned, then why not set a positive example for your child by going through the proper channels and talking to a coach about specific concerns in person, and not on a message board? That shows maturity.

Taking pot shots behind a screen name shows a lack of accountability and what does a coach's classroom have anything to do with the softball field?

I hire workers from the younger generation and there are many good hard working kids, but too many want to be spoon fed and cant take criticism, constructive or otherwise. That sometimes is the reality of life and competition.

A coach, manager, or employer's job is not to always to play nice and make friends, sometimes you have to be hard nosed if you want to get the job done.

There are plenty of PARD leagues and checkers tournaments, like Sports said, if competitive athletics is not for you.

Unless you know a person personally, don't judge. If you know them, man up and confront them about your concerns.

This type of forum was created so that information can be shared that would not otherwise be possible. Those who participate should be educated enough to know that there will be the good, the bad and the ugly exchange of information. And unfortunately, the truth is always difficult for some. Man-up? Please.

I do not have to know anyone personally to know that certain behavior is unacceptable. And I have witnessed the behavior mentioned on more than one occasion. The fact is that the integrity of any program is damaged by behavior unbecoming. Not to mention that verbal abuse is just that… Abuse. Man-up? Please.

What type of player or team would develop if a coach was fair, respectful, and demanding? Let's compare that to rude, disrespectful, and moronic. There are some who should not have authority over others in any capacity; especially kids, or young adults. Man-up? Please.

Sports participation is an intricate part of the educational process. However, it should be a positive experience for all.

That could be the problem with youth today, too much mommy and daddy intervention with everyday life affairs. I am sure what is said to a student-athlete on the playing field is a lot less damaging in the long run than for a parent to always step in the way of any type of 'issue' (or shall I say correction)that arise by a teacher, coach, boss or what have you.

Are you a parent? As statics show the problem with youth today is NOT too much mommy and daddy intervention. Far from it!

"That could be the problem with youth today, too much mommy and daddy intervention with everyday life affairs". That's an interesting statement stinger. Moms and Dads not involved with their kids day to day activity. So where are the kids? and what are they doing? out getting stoned, shoplifting at Walmart, how about shooting up a school? I wish mamma and daddy would've intervened in Alabama. So do all the parents who lost their kids as well.

:notworthy:

More parent involvement is necessary to protect our kids!

Anyone have the district standings? Or at least scores from both games this week?

I'm assuming it may look like this...

EF 6-0

Harmony 5-1

Harleton 5-1

WO 3-3

Winona 2-4

Diana 2-4

Sabine 1-5

UG 0-6

With only one game left in the first half of district, I'm going to say there will not be much, if any, change in how the teams will place at the end of the season... Anyone agree or disagree?

Coach U win some U loose some don't sweat it best of luck the rest of the way

Well, no doubt EF will be district champs. They will even go undefeated in district. Harmony and Harleton will round off the other two playoff spots... I would say to the other teams "Get 'em next year" but I should really say "Get 'em in two years" you know, when they re-allign districts again and add the division I&II.
