First, it's Spring Hill, not Springhill! Second, I know Pine Tree has a larger enrollment, but I'd love for the Pirates and Panthers to hook up on the gridiron!

Let’s win a playoff game or two first.  Then we can reach out to PT.

It is time for you to move on...WO and SH are no longer the rivals they once were.  You do realize that SH is getting bigger and WO is not right? You should probably try to find a more equal size school...WO is closer to UG in size than they are to SH.

    I vote for Winnsboro

I still think that Mack got that first down!! 🤨

I agree.  We ended up down on that end of the field where the infamous play took place by accident.  We got there too late and most the seats were filled on the home side.  Dang ticket line!  But we had a “down the line” view of that play and I think he got it too.

Yep!  99 plays hard and then takes plays off.

Yes.  The highlights from the previous 15 games didn’t show those plays.  When he decides he wants to go 100%, he is tough to block even with a double.  Super athletic for someone of his size.  If he ever decides to give maximum effort on more plays, 😳

Just saw a longer replay. He got his hand on him although minimally, I could see why they called it.

I wished we could have gotten a panoramic view of the PI play.  There had to be some hand checking and such going on before the camera view we saw to draw the flag.  Defensive holding would have still given PNG a 1st & goal.

Congrats Gilmer and very well deserved..I was somewhat surprised the dallas broadcasters picked

bellville to win. Apparantley they don't know east texas football.

All the professionals let the computer sway their judgement.  They looked at the 15 games as a whole, vs looking at the last 6 or 9 to see the trend.  This was not the only game they missed this week.

Metzel has been to 3 state championships in 4 years as head coach.  Knocked out last year by the eventual champion Carthage. More importantly, he has established a culture that permeates through the program. I know everyone likes to complain about the coach, but it’s hard to argue with that kind of success.

Metzel’s interview after the game was just great!  He gets it.  He assembled a great staff, many with HC experience.  All with the same mindset.  Good stuff.

#1 for Gilmer best individual performance I've witnessed in a while.

I'm not sure  about week in and week out, but today he looked like the best back in 4a.

He was definitely the X factor.

He was one of the best players on the field in every game he played.  He was definitely the MVP today.  Did I see him wearing TCU gloves in the game?

they scored 61 on silsbee and called off the dogs early second half.  Silsbee was the #2 team in the state, and that group of seniors went 25-2 the last two years in one of the tougher districts in the state, with a trip to the state semis last season.  Bellville almost got beaten by Jasper?  They beat them by 4 scores, and jasper is dang good.  If gilmer gives up points the way they have all season, Bellville might push 70.  I get that Gilmer beat Carthage, but the word all over the state has been this was the year to beat Carthage, which proved true.  They shouldn't have made it as far as they did.  And finally, I've also never seen a fan base put so much weight on losing to teams.  over and over in this thread "the bellville offense didn't score all those points on teams in the same hemisphere as carthage, killgore, chapel hill, and PG".  Neither did Gilmer against two of them, and the two games they did put up points against those caliber teams they gave up 71 and 44.  And I assure you Silsbee, Wimberly, and Jasper would compete with all the teams you mentioned.  I fell into the trap of "Bellville played a crappy schedule" as well until they boatraced a bunch of really good teams from down my way in the playoffs and made it to the finals.  Anyone predicting a blowout win for Gilmer is in for a surprise.  I wouldn't be shocked if Bellville blows Gilmer out, but realistically I'll take bellville by 17-21 points.

No blowout predictions from me.  I think this is the offensive slugfest the SC fans have been waiting for.  Combined points could be 100+.  I expect a great game.
