Also, congrats to the 2 seniors for SH...your last year and you get to go to the big dance...This team doesnt get there without the pitching of K. Williams. Not taking anything away from the other players but considering they really dont have another solid pitcher on their squad, it was KW that led the way....Great season and good luck at TWA...and Allison Brown...Congrats on a great senior season...You had your best year yet...Gunna miss you and Kayla!!

cowboy1, I too thought Celina would win it all...I was at the other 3A game and wasnt impressed as much as I was with Celina's team. Your also correct as to why SH didnt fare any better than Celina...They came to hit and we didnt hit.simple as that...I too cant remember the last time SH had 2 hits...very unusual...not sure what happened but they did have a GREAT year...

Well, are defense was not up to par, not as bad as the Splendora series but enough to cost us a couple of runs...but when you only score 1 its hard to win against a team that can hit from top to bottom. A throwing error by the SH 3rd baseman (1 run), a hit batter (1 more run). they gave Williams an E on a bunt she mishandled but honestly dont think she had a chance for a play if she fields it cleanly. It came down to hitting and they came to hit....simple as that....but nonetheless...they had a great year and my hats off to them.

Great year Lady Panthers!! They just couldnt get the hits when they needed...left 7 runners on and 4 or 5 of those were in scoring position. Tough to beat a good team when that happens but thats how it goes sometimes. 29-9 is a great record for any program...hats of to the coaches, fans and most of all the girls..

Just curious what game did you see SH play?

Although I wasnt there to see the game I had a few freinds who were. They said Van didnt play its best game on defense and thats never good. They also said Celina was the better team and when thats the case (if it was) then you cannot make any errors... We (SH) wanted to see Van go because of the great sportsmenship we received from your girls, fans and coaches last year. You won us over, but I would have to say if you win game 1 you go with your ace in game 2. Why, because you want to close them out thats why. I look at Carthage and Splendora...SH pitcher went all three games and twice had to go back to back. She got wins in both 3rd games. You go with what got you there and thats all there is to it, especially if she had all night to rest from game 1..Thats a decision only the coach can explain and live with.

Thanks momofHilda.....nothing against Celina but we wanted you guys there...we havent forgot the class your team, coaches and fans showed last year agianst us.....Van still had a year to remember..and your daughter had her only strikeout on Sat...wow....amazing! She must have been a very diciplined hitter....See you guys next year at our tournament..

Huntington lost alot from last years team but found a way to get back to the Regional Finals...thats not an easy task...Hats off to Hunting for a job well done.....It also wasnt easy for SH to get there either....knocking out all 3 18AAA teams wasnt even close to easy but they found a way to do it. Of course you have Splendora in there to..but in the last 2 series in was the #8 hitter for SH to keep it going against Splendora (2outs 2 stikes in top of 7th) and the #9 hitter against Huntington to start their 2 out rally. SH has found a way to win...GREAT PITCHING, strong defense (most of the time) and lots of timely hitting...keep it up girls and best of luck at STATE.........BRING IT BACK SPRINGHILL..

Hammer, you aint kidding....In that situation you have to advance the runner and she couldnt bunt because of nerves...No doubt she was nervous but if your the coach you tell her to bunt, period. I would think they know how to bunt, but we will never know.....but one thing you dont do is tell the paper what he did...lol...keep it between you and the player.

Needs to be someone that knows and cares about the softball program. This team was fundamentally not sound...just my opinion.

Man what a game! SH had runners on base all night but finally broke through in the 5th with 2 outs..Kinda of like last week when they scored 4 with 2 outs...both times it started from the eight or ninth hitter...Way to go LB with a 2 out double to left...that started the ball rolling. Of course Kayla Willliams had another outstanding performance on the mound and if I am not mistaken SH just knocked out ALL 18AAA teams in the playoffs...Way to represent 17AAA GOOD LUCK AT STATE

This had to be one of the most exciting games I have ever seen. SH never gave up even after (once again) making multiple errors on the infeild (game 3) . K. Williams never tired on the mound and with 2 outs and 2 strikes in the top of the seventh their #8 hitter eakes out an infeild single, believe its their right fielder (Fudge). From their it kept going and next thing u know 4 runs on the board. This team from Splendora was pretty good and can swing the bat! but in the end it was SH speed that decided it (2 infeild singles) (Fudge and Campbell) then Williams hits a 2 rbi double to gap in left center......Is softball the greatest game to watch, yes it is!!! Good luck Lady Panthers, take out Huntington.

Superfreak....In the last 3 days I have had conversations with at least 3 parents of starters of that Carthage team...they all said the better team won....U tell me...3 out of 4 for the year and we got lucky...Yeah your base runners did kill you in that case and I can understand...we had one picked off at first (running for our catcher) and I too think like you...I wouuld rather have the slower but much smarter runner in!.....Luck, have the calls go your way, have the ball bounce your way but honestly 3 out of 4 says it all....Just wish these two teams would have been in a different region....Have watched these Carthage kids grow up playing select ball so i know how much they wanted it.

Thanks for info...Van has had one heck of a year....I watched SH knock them out last year and the Van girls had amazing sportsmenship....People keep saying SH got in the wrong region but dang there isnt an easy one anywhere around here. Keep up the great job Van, and maybe me just might see you in Austin...of course if we do we have to play awesome ball and get some breaks but you never know.

Superfreak....3rd game, to many base running errors? If I remember right the SH rightfeilder threw a one hop strike to 3rd to nail the Carthage runner....thats not a base running error...thats a heck of a play by SH...Carthage coach was aggresive on that play and their is nothing wrong with that...just a great throw by the Bogue girl. AS FAR AS SH BEING LUCKY.....THEY TOOK 3 OUT OF 4 FROM CARTHAGE THIS YEAR.... A 1 hitter in the first game of the year and a 2 hitter in game 3 of this series...How can you call that lucky??? Thats not lucky thats being the better team!!! As far as Carthage losing some momentum....I would agree..they had 3 straight shutouts and 2 of them were against very good teams. In game one Springhills's speed and ability to bunt killed Carthage...as I recall the first 2 scored on a great bunt by the cather and the runner at 2nd was coming the whole way....your 1st baseman just made a mental mistake by going to 1st....I had many freinds from both schools so it was tough watching Carthage go home but thats why teams like this play the best of 3...because in the end the best team wins...and in this case it was SH.

Next year in district....This was a great series and the last game is what I expected the whole series to be like. K. Davis and K. Williams pitched one heck of a game 3. Its sad to see Carthage go home because they are really a great team but I am pulling for the Lady Panthers...Dont know anything about Brownsboro...does anyone know anything about them??? Who did they have in their district?

Superfreak, they dont have anyone after Campbell....Its K. Williams then Campbell....thats pretty much it. As far as Davis this kid has played lots of travel ball for lots of years so she shouldnt have any problem with pitching 2 games on Saturday assuming SH wins Friday the 15th but it will be a great series...lets just hope they get to play it

You like Carthage and thats ok...Both teams are very good...what makes you think Carthage takes it? I hope these teams get to play...if this flu thing gets worse they could actually call it all off...thats what I have heard anyway..

Yeah...mom can be something else and by all means dont say anything about coach or you will get an earfull...lol...but the one thing I dont understand is why does Tatum have a pregnant coach at 3rd base? Do they not have any idea how dangerous this is? I have seen more than one ball ripped by her and cant imagine what might happen if one got her...I think its a poor decision on this coaching staff but then again look at who were referring to. Tatum is the only school I have ever seen that takes the 1st base side. Is this common or am I just crazy...lol but in spite of the coaching I am pulling for these girls to beat Huntington...Its only one game but if the play their best and catch Huntington looking ahead you never know what might happen....Good luck Lady Eagles

I agree reddeagle, she is better than that, not near as good as the Huntington pitcher though. Tatum, I predict wont be ready...why? Heck there coach called of a Monday practice because she said it was going to rain...Heard this from more than one person...cant say who....lol...but dang your getting ready to play Huntington...you practice, period unless the field is flooded or there is lightning..just my opinion but then again tatum has everything but coaching. I mean they have a great new ballpark, and some talented athletes but no guidance. I might get ripped but anyone that knows Tatum softball understands where I am coming from.

there is no justice good enough for this pathetic man! Any money spent on housing him is wasted tax dollars.....I know what needs to be done but cant write it here!! If I was the parent of one of his victims..they wouldnt be able to stop me from hurting this guy....An eye for an eye....just my thoughts.
