False Prophets

. . . . . . Why Doesn’t Modern Day Prophecy Ever Come True?
William Miller (a seventh day Adventist) predicted Christ’s return in 1843. When that failed he changed the date to 1844.
Joseph Smith (a Mormon) predicted Christ’s return no later than 1891.
Ellen G. White (a seventh day Adventist) made several predictions of Christ’s return (1844, 1845, 1849, 1850 and 1856. She also predicted that England would attack the US and several other outlandish Prophecies.
C.T. Russell (a Jehovah’s Witness and the Watchtower founder) predicted the second coming for 1914.
Hal Lindsey (a Christian Zionist and author of “The Late Great Planet Earth”) predicted the date 1988; and later changed his prediction to 1995.
Harold Camping (Christian Radio host) issued failed prophecies of the end of the world multiple times, his latest failure being May 2011.
There were predictions made that the world would end as late as December 21, 2012 when the Mayan calendar ran out, but time marches on. It would appear as though those listed above were not at all familiar with the following scriptures which speak of events beginning with the death of Jesus.
Zec 13:1  In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.
Zec 13:2  And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.
Zec 13:3  And it shall come to pass, that when any shall yet prophesy, then his father and his mother that begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest lies in the name of the LORD: and his father and his mother that begat him shall thrust him through when he prophesieth.
One more verse for your consideration:
Deu 18:22  When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
The prophets of GOD have completed their work long ago and are never to prophesy again. That leaves only FALSE PROPHETS who will try.
Mar 13:32  But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
One thing is for sure, if Jesus Christ and the angels of heaven don’t know when the end shall be, only the very foolish would say they do know and offer up a fake prophecy speaking lies in the name of the LORD.
