If things do not pick up in Canadian I could see us dropping in 2024.

I think you may be counting all classes. I am only counting classes 3A and down.

It would probably be easier to just go by Region but sometimes those are not an exact science either.

Ok I counted as best I could for the Panhandle/West Texas. My area was basically West of Wichita Falls and North of Abilene. Does not include all of what most people would call West Texas but it is what I used. Somebody else can do East Texas. Not sure where teams like Bremond and Mart fall. That will be your call. So what I counted and I could have been wrong is 16 from the area I described. I did not include 6 man.

I did not go that far. Just was glancing through the UIL archives and the East Texas and Panhandle/West Texas just stood out.

I find it very interesting the apparant domination of these two areas in football classes 3A and down. These two areas have produced numerous State Champions since 2000 and before but I have focused in on the 2000 season and after. Not sure what it is about these areas that produce one good team after another. Of course there are more smaller schools in these areas being more rural. I also think it is the people of these areas. Small town folks with a super passion for their school and team. Being from Canadian I can tell you we love chasing our kids. No matter what it is. Good Luck everybody as we get this season started. Being a Canadian Wildcat Fan I can't wait for the season to get started. Going to have to add a few new tools to the toolbox after what graduated this past year. Things are looking very good though. If Canadian can win the first game they will set the all time win streak record for the Texas Panhandle. Currently tied with Wheeler at 31. Won't be easy since we travel to 4A Bushland in week 1. Not sure about that #3 ranking. We shall see. The weight room has been packed all summer long.
