I know that the 2 game is Friday at Mineola and the 3rd if needed is right after the 2nd game...I think they start at 6:30....field was hard to find......I had to stop and ask a Mineola cop for directions...HE had a hard time explaining where to go....was a VERY good game....the little pitcher from Detroit was pretty good....but the Lyles girl from Alto pitched a "doosey" of a game!!!!!!......Hope that helps coach Hicks!!!!!!

1906...you hit it on the proverbial"head"...the question should have been what two teams will play......from what I have seen AND heard...there are SEVERAL teams that have a shot at the regional finals.....should be a VERY INTERESTING month to see who it is......NOW I DO FEEL MUCH BETTER :thumbsup:

I thought I would stay off this thread...for 2 reasons...1. this is ALL bulletin board material for someone....2. There is enough "bad blood" between Gland and the rest of this board...BUT...I will have to reply to MM about the JV team Alto lost to....mrgla is right they lost to Nac JV...BUT from what I saw they were a bunch of raw boned good looking baseball kids...don't think ANY OF THEM play football...probably...fall ball...winter ball...spring ball and summer ball...year round baseball....I would take their catcher in a HEARTBEAT!!!!!...they really hit the ball and ran the bases well.....NOW...back to the thread.....WHO CARES WHO GRAPELAND WILL PLAY........could be a list of about 4-6 teams could play them......ok...I feel better now.... :rolleyes:

Long....I may be old and almost worn out....but my wife KNOWS I look good.......still miss your "voice" on the radio....you all are doing great things with your kids over there...almost lost one of my "blings" the other day at son's baseball practice.....was hitting infield and swung the bat and ring went off with the ball......kid fielded the ring instead of the ball....guess I will have to get these things resized.......Get after ME....good luck..!!! :thumbsup:

Sorry, my mistake...you know when you get MY age with MY eyesight.....things are blurred and distorted....you know kind of like the "retired" head table president...lol.....seems that Alto baseball is doing pretty well.....just wish they wouldn't make the games so "interesting"......but I guess that Coach Dixon and Coach Gould want the people to get their "money's worth....... :thumbsup:

Game seem to be out of Alto's hands early....I went to go watch the NEW AND IMPROVED (anything will be better than what they did last year) SFA football scrimmage....kept getting texts from people at the game....Mt. long balled them early.....last score I heard was 7-3 ME.....thought, well I guess I better go check out the game...got there in the 5th inning and Alto had fought back to 7-7....lost the lead 9-7 in the top of the 7th...I think they pitched their soph pitcher....Crisp?.....tied the game in the bottom 7th and then won on a text book squeeze play. The Mount has a reaaly good baseball team.....from what I saw the Pope kid from MT kept Alto in check....infield did not help them too much.....But I did talk to the bus transportation people this morning and they found baseballs all in the bus parking lot from the home runs MT hit.....will be interesting if BIGJ76586 or whatever his name is from G'land will respond.........Congrats Coach Dixon (retired PRESIDENT of the "HEAD TABLE") :notworthy:

Ok...Sepulchre....you get at the plate and try to hit one of Mitchell's fast balls...."slow" can or not ....pretty fast for a high school pitcher.....BUT I do know that Coach Cheek probably had the ol "jug" wound tight getting ready for Mitchell....Cheek is a pretty good coach and ALWAYS has his teams ready to play Alto....Remember Cheek has played Alto for many years, even when he was at Westwood.....Good luck to Both of these teams because they will both be in the play-offs...and will go pretty far....OH WATCH FOR bigj7055 or what ever his name is now...will get on here and tell Alto and Cushing to watch out for G'land.....Oh they got beat by GROVETON.....have a nice day!!!!!!!glad to see Red fly back on the air.....talked to your grandpa the other day.....still cracks me up......talked "single-wing stuff"....I must be getting old!!!!!

gee whilikers....big j finally got on here. :happy65: ...he must hate everybody :thumbdown: .....even the coaches at Grapeland....he really needs to GO TO SCHOOL....and get a degree and coach. :thumbsup: ....but then he couldn't be a "fence-runner". :crybaby: ...well in Grapeland maybe he could....this will be an interesting year for baseball.....should be very exciting to see............

What is nice is that there are a few of that bunch that "if they worked hard could get some more hardware"....the SPECIAL word is work hard and keep focused!!!!!.....MED I think this years ring is more GAWDY than last years!!!...Some of those guys are walking straight for the first time in a year!!!! they are balanced out...one on both side ring fingers...lol!!!!

:happy65: Well boys and girls..The 2007 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL RINGS made their appearence in Alto yesterday.....man are they nice. Don't have a picture just yet but should have one this afternoon....bigger than last years ring and better....football shape with the "Atlanta A" in the middle of the "bling..bling"....What an honor to have two in a row!!!!!!!!!!!! :happy65:

Ok now......that is great!!!!! good luck Coach Bowie.....now maybe they will have some decent food at their track meets....that is if Coach Bowie cooks it....I owe Coach Bowie for the way I look today from his GREAT COOKING!!!!!!! This assignment could not have been given to a better person.......Coach Bowie will do a terrific job!!!!!!!

Red I see two things happening 1. keep the old district with Lovelady taking Oakwood's spot OR 2. go east with the district Lovelady Grapeland Alto Cushing Mt. Enterprise Carlise No that would be tooooo easy for the U.I.L.........probably put Lovelady, Grapeland and Alto in the district with Mart,Axtell,and Chilton!!!!!!!!!!!!
