  1. So the EF catcher has an empty trailer on the Liles property, and claims they live in the EF school district after clearly changing school for athletic purposes. So Harmony has mandatory Sunday practices. So ...on and on and on.... Im sure every school has something against UIL rules. Opinion - there are some big time suspicious activity in this district.
  2. He already has year round basketball. And the problem with the football program in the past has been that the better athletes have tended to be in the gym during football season. Its tough on a football coach when you look at your sideline while basketball is doing off season workouts, and realize that your playing with the short stick. Alot of the same problem going on at Sabine. Unbelievable numbers in off season basketball, and it is showing in the results of the football program compared to the basketball program.
  3. Ha, Football=Smear the Quear with the ball for sissies.
  4. Wow - 12 years in a row. 7 District titles. How many playoff wins in those 12 years? Bi-District doesnt count as a win when you dont play it! Maybe things will go better for them now that they are the big dog.
  5. You better bring the big sticks, because teams in this district will score some runs. There will not be very many 1-0 / 2-1 scores in this district. Offensive power up and down the lineups on every team. Good pitching, but better offenses.
  6. Sabine has beat WO 3 of last 4 times they played. Harleton beat WO last year. Harmony beat Harleton twice last year. WO and Harmony have always went back and forth. They usually play more than once during the season, and they usually split. They just happened to only play once last year. These are new teams, with new players, with who knows what new move ins. EF is going to be extremely good, and may be able to take the top spot also. All of these teams are going to have to play their absolute best each time they get on the field, or they will find themselves sitting at home and watching the playoffs. The worse thing about this district - there are 4 or possibly 5 teams that are more than capable of going 3 rounds deep into the playoffs next year. I believe if they were split up you would have 3 district champions out of this district this year. But only 3 teams get to go. This would of been the idea year for 4 teams to make the playoffs instead of 3. Because I truely believe that the 4th place team out of this district could beat a number one team from another district.
  7. Everyone in this district has alot back. Harmony - state tourn - almost entire team back + pitchers EF - regional quarterfinals - entire team back + pitchers Harleton - regional quarterfinals - almost entire team back + pitchers White Oak - Regional quarterfinals ( 3A ) - lost only 2nd baseman and right fielder. Sabine - Area finals (3A) ( a last inning Home Run loss in area away from being in regional quarterfinals ) - almost entire team back - must find a pitcher though to contend this year ) If the others ( UG, Winona, and ND ) have any pitching step up they will fair well also. This district has been completely dominated by Harmony for so many years now. I think no one dominates this year. It will be a blood bath every time these teams step on the field. Cant wait

    sh vs. wo

Ok, this is getting a little out of hand. Yes, the WO kid was at the game. Yes, he was on the Bullard side. But, how stupid would he be to root against Sabine, when his girlfriend plays for Sabine. Im sure that the other two with him, were probably family members. People we need to let these two teams play it out and see what happens. I actually think that SH will win. But I would not be surprised if it went the other way. These two teams are very alike, both have a tendancy to make errors, both hit the ball extremely well. Both have super stud freshman that are leading the teams offensively and defensively. Both have very consistant pitchers. But I think SH's pitcher is a little stronger than WO's. Not that WO's pitcher hasnt shocked everyone this year, but still not as strong as SH. That is why I believe SH will win. But, we will not know untill after it has all played out. Regardless, one of these two teams will be representing our district at a point that Im not for sure anyone has done in a long time from this district. So good luck to both teams, and I hope this weekend turns out as good as it is advertised.
  9. Thank you UIL!!! 5 teams capable of going a long long way next year in 2A. 2 of those will not even make it to the playoffs. The three representatives next year will be very tested, and very prepared for the tough games coming up in the playoffs. This has to be one of the toughest districts around, more or less just in 2A. What makes it even more interesting, is that all of these teams have the majority if not all of their players back for next year. If Sabine gets that pitcher to move in they have been talking about, then they are right back in the mix with all those hitters coming back. EF gets anymore of those Carthage girls they will only get stronger. It will be a very exciting year next year.
  10. How is it these two got to play tonight? I was told UIL or TEA one of the two had stated that NO ONE plays untill friday night due to TAKS.

It appears to me that you should come back and restate your opinion. White Oak has not only beat some good teams this year, but has done it with PITCHING and defense. You dont beat teams like, Harmony, Bullard, Mt. Vernon, Spring Hill, Sabine without good pitching. Look at the scores of these games - most of them were low scoring games, which means the pitcher is doing her job. I have seen her twice now against Sabine - except for one bad inning in an emotional 10 inning game - she has done a great job of getting our team of not hitting the ball hard. She is not a strikeout pitcher - but does get alot of outs.

Man, your softball knowledge has really shown on this one. Gladewater beats Spring Hill - White Oak beats Sabine, Mineola, Gilmer. Not saying these two teams are dominant teams, but you dont make an arrogant statement like that and then not be able to back it up. These two teams are definately better than what people have given them credit for.
  13. I will put the game I saw friday night ( White Oak vs Sabine ) up against anything I have seen since last years Sabine - Spring Hill game. This thing was an amazing 15 round heavyweight prize fight. Dont get fooled by the final score - think mentally it finally got to the White Oak pitcher - but she did a great job keeping that team in the game. Neither one of these teams were gonna back down. White Oak up after the first inning - Sabine ties it up - takes the lead by one - white oak scores in the bottom of the inning. Sabine takes lead in the top of the 7th - White Oak fires back. White Oak had two opportunities with less than 2 outs and the winning run on 3rd, and Sabine stepped up both times and kept them from scoring. Both of these teams need to be congradulated - and if this is what we are in for the rest of the year with all the teams in this district - Mentally the three teams to make it out of this district will have a huge advantage over whoever they have to play. Again - great job white oak - I hope that you win em all and we get to play you for that district championship over here in a couple of weeks. Most improved team I have seen from last year - no doubt.
  14. Longview paper had White Oak Losing twice. Van no hit them beating them 5-0, and Lindale came back in the last inning to beat them 4-1. Looks like white oaks hitters had a tough day. Starting to feel a little bit better about the ladies from sabine repeating
