HS2012

HS should win by a lot. They did give up well over 100 points and well over 1000 yards the past 2 games. Who is the DC? I thought they were supposed to be the elite of the elite. Don't reply much but this is one I felt needed a response. And I will enlighten you to who it is. His name is Chris Edwards and every child in HS knows him as Coach Ed. He is by far one of the best guys we have ever worked for and some of us have rings and have worked for some dang good ones. He not only is a great person but loves his job and works his tail off to have the kids prepared for everything they will face in life and on the football field. Now you being the guy who knows the numbers and how elite we are suppose to be, let's look at numbers and success that Coach Ed has had. Last 8 years he has won more than any coach that has ever coached in HS. There are only two schools is East Texas that have more wins and that is Gilmer and Carthage. You can say all you want that they have won State Championships and we haven't but I promise you that there are a lot of schools that wish they could win like we do with the kids we have. 10-15 years ago HS was everyone's homecoming game but can say now Coach Ed has turned the program into a successful winning program. District Championships happen very often around here in mutliple sports and that's because he cares about every sport and wants all these kids to succeed. Now back to our defense and for you that knows so much to act like you don't know. We have given up a bunch but WE are 2-1 and going to be ready this week and the next week and every week after that. Hope you have a chance to meet Coach Ed one day cause he is a good guy but something tells me you already know him. Good luck to your dawgs this week.

Kent Craig has been announced as the Head Baseball Coach of the Mustangs!! I have personally met with the guy a few times and excited about he and his family moving to Cass County!!

Pigskin I can tell you this and you can take it to whoever you want to! If you think Coach doesn't put these kidos in Hughes Springs Texas as a top priority and want the very best for them you are wrong! He will pick the rite guy. Our rite guy and your rite guy may be totally different, but that's what WE do for a living! I stay away from saying much on this site but I am here to stop all rumors and try to keep it up to date because I am invested in the program and want what's best for every athlete we have!

Think deadline was 14 days from the day Coach posted it. I have been around some locals and haven't heard much. What app you talking about that they want? Just curious to what that best case is! I have seen a few that we could want! Guessing Coach will start pulling some this week!!

Well its a bit early to start throwing out names! But believe me there are some good candidates so far! As far as being in house hire I can assure you its not gonna happen cause no one wants it!! Apparently the two from pewitt are hometown heros but not gonna happen if they don't apply!

I can assure that no one in house wants this job. The apps are stacking up. As Reno stated there are some big time apps and so far none from Pewitt. So I can put that flame out for now.

I could only imagine what this thread will look like in the next few days! Coach Edwards did a great job the last two years and is ready to pass the torch! Whoever gets this job is walking directly into a program that has won lots of games and gonna win a bunch more! It has been open for a day and a half and Coach has recieved a ton of interest! The right guy will be hired and its a process that the people in charge will take care of! I also vote for Sloppy Barnes but I bet he his headed back to the track workout!!!

I am a coach and if my kids are stupid enough to tell a coach what they are going to do or in this case not do, leave there butts there and call ME. By the time we made that hour trip back home they would have wished they got on that bus! Problem with our world today fellas is not the kids. Its there mommies and daddies. Heck most teenagers today make choices for the parents, and they just live with it!

I think the problem here is that when you say program it is in reflection of the Coach. Ronnie does an oustanding job and works his tail off to put a winner on the field. Now to your point I do agree 100% that the talent level is not there. Its about jimmy's and joes not x's and o's at this level. At the smaller schools we have those years where the kids are just not very good.
