  1. Padilla predicts Troup and Arp go way south and join Frankston, Crockett, Buffalo, Leon. With... Diana, WR, EF, Waskom, Garrison, Kildare
  2. They will be D-1. Maybe something like ...... Newton Deweyville Hemphill Corrigan Trinity New Waverly Crockett Garrison (but they could go North)
  3. Where and when? I will pick Elkhart in 2 but Hemphill plays scrappy ball and Twine is legit.
  4. I think Dukes is hands down the MVP. When he is on the mound Sabine is a different team. If he is on, they can beat anybody. But when he isn't pitching they are just an average team. The played too many close games to bad teams when he wasn't pitching. I do credit them for finding ways to win and winning the district championship. I think his only competition for MVP is the catcher from Troup, that kid can straight rake and he is really good defensively. I think the Longview paper had him hitting around .550. But I think Dukes is more "valuable" than the other kid.
  5. Look I understand the team concept. But lets be honest if they were all they are said to be, then they shouldn't give up 9 runs to a bad UG team.
  6. I assume Jefferson didn't throw one of its major league ready flame throwers in a 9-0 drubbing from the 6-10 Union Grove.
  7. Wasn't Elkhart in contention for the third place spot last year. I thought if they beat Trinity, there would have been a 3-way tie with them possibly taking the spot. They lost of course but Westwood brought up the rear and had a real disappointing season after the drop to 2A.
  8. Whatever dude! In no way did I mentioned you or attack what you said. I question the legitimacy of "word of mouth" MPH by high school pitchers. Especially in 2A! Face it, if a team really had two pitchers throwing 90 and 85 in 2A, then they probably make a deep run. If not they probably don't hit or play defense. Most 2A teams would love a kid throwing 82-85. Even good teams don't have that.
  9. Just do what most college coaches do when they are recruiting through word of mouth. Subtract 5 Rule. Kid throwing low 90's is 85-87. Kid throwing mid 80's is 78-80. If this is legit, then Jefferson has the worst other 7 EVER and can't hit the broadside of a barn. With two kids that throw like that in 2A, they shouldn't have a 1-2 record in district.
  10. Yep, big game in Sabine next Tuesday. Both teams need to take care of business tonight. I think the edge goes Sabine, they probably have the best pitcher in the district with Dukes.
  11. Sabine 5-0 at Frankston Troup 5-0 vs. Winona Frankston 3-2 vs. Sabine Hawkins 2-3 at Harmony Arp 2-3 vs.West Rusk Winona 2-3 at Troup Harmony 1-4 vs. Hawkins West Rusk 0-5 at Arp Sorry. Updated.
  12. Sabine 5-0 at Frankston Troup 5-0 vs. Winona Hawkins 3-2 at Harmony Frankston 3-2 vs. Sabine Arp 2-3 vs.West Rusk Harmony 1-4 vs. Hawkins Winona 1-4 at Troup West Rusk 0-5 at Arp
  13. Troup 11-1 over Hawkins in 6. Never really close
  14. If Tatum, WO , and Troup all win. Tatum is #1, WO #2, Troup #3 because of tie breaker rules
