When i said they were down i didn't mean it as an insult, i know joaquin is really young and only return a couple starters but when that happens there is usually a rebuilding period. And i didn't say garrison beat joaquin bad or ran all over them, all i said was that they played really good defense since they only gave up 1 or 2 first downs.

Garrison 3 td's Joaquin 0. Joaquin looks pretty down this year but Garrison's defense did play very well.

yeah those 2 guys are good. the 2 playoff games last year against overton had to be some of the best games i have ever seen.

I would definately think Overton should be the favorite starting out the season. But they lost 5 starters so they have a few holes that will need to be filled in. Carlisle will be really good too but they lost a couple of their best players as well.

Overton will have to find a way to get points on the board to win which seems to be a little bit of a problem for them. should be a good game though.

I was surprised to see the Alto-Carlisle score as close as it was. So I will agree with everyone else and say Alto by about 21, give or take a few. Being from overton it would be really awesome if they could pull off the upset here but you have to be a realist which is where i think many of our fans made a mistake and got their expectations way too high last week. I hope i am proven wrong!

i think it will be a good matchup, Overton will probably have more speed. Ore City did not look at all like a team that went 0-10 last year.

yeah considering wr beat them 1 time in 4 years, i am sure overton is really scared of them.

well it would depend on how many of those were in district because pre season games should not matter in all district selections. but if he had 4 or 5 interceptions in district then i would think he should get an award.

I like simple helmets. I think Gilmer's is nice. Longview is classic. Overton's white helmet, white mask, and the running mustang is classic, especially when they have the white jerseys (a little green trim), white pants, and yes, white shoes with green trim. WR's baby blue is precious.

I hope a quarterback controversy does not start. Both QB's are good kids but the starter gives them the best chance to win in a real game because he has the potential to score on any play.
