Pittsburgh played a good game. Kendall Wright is great! Paris lost Courtney Hill early in the game & had seven turnovers.

Watched the film and all of Paris' turnovers were earned by Pitt. Pitt made all of them happen with big hits! awsome D-fence! Lets go Pitt!

Paris offense is over-rated... watched them all season.. only did well against FW..

paris offense before the pittsburg game was second in offense production in the district. one bad game doesnt mean they're overrated. when you get to watch courtney hill run for 150 yards per game, and the average 300lb. line destroy defensive lines, thats not overrated. go watch a game and get your facts straight.

I'm not to suprised that Pitt pulled this one off. The real test for Pitt comes this week against Royse City. They look really good on paper and are highly ranked in many polls so if they (Pitt) can pull this win then I will say they are legit (even if they play them close).

Just to let you know wildcat47... the line has not destroyed people... if that was the case why did that not happen friday..Always an excuse.. am not ripping them.. I am just saying that they are not that good. Only looked good in one game. 1 touchdown against Little Elm the other was special teams TD. One against Pitt... other was defense.. The offense has been responsible for alot of the problems their defense has to deal with. On the field a lot and put to defend the short end of the field and a lot of turnovers. Rediculous.. so get your facts straight and call it like it is... Like i said i am not ripping the cats just telling the truth..

I've watched Paris' game against Dennison and Pitt and on defense their front seven is pretty good as neither team could run consistently on them, Pitts yards were hard-earned when trying to run the ball against them, their pass defense is suspect, and they turn the ball over ALOT on O. Those RB's took good licks and coughed up the ball, as well as the Qb. If they can get their turnover's controlled they should be okay.

:From the Mount Pleasant Daily Tribune:

Pirates deep six Paris in 49-13 win

PITTSBURG -- Pittsburg rebounded from its first loss of the season with a resounding victory over Class 4A Paris Friday night.

The Pirates, coming off a loss to Carthage, dominated Paris in every facet of the contest, taking a 49-13 victory at Pirates Stadium to run their record to 4-1 on the season.

“We had great senior leadership tonight. Our kids stepped it up. This was a good character check for us,” said Pirates coach Robert Manley.

Pirates quarterback Kendall Wright completed 11-of-18 passes for 179 yards and two touchdown passes. He also ran for a score and stripped the ball from a Paris ball carrier and returned it for a touchdown.

Pittsburg took advantage of a sloppy Paris offense which turned the ball over six times. Pittsburg’s attacking defense kept the Wildcats’ offense in check as Paris had only a couple of sustained drives throughout the game.

“You have got to capitalize against a great team like Paris,” Manley said on turning the Paris turnovers into points.

Paris’ first turnover came on its opening possession of the game when Pirates cornerback Mark Farmer recovered a Wildcats’ fumble at the Pittsburg 9-yard line.

The recovery proved to be a huge momentum boost for the Pirates. They were able to stop a possible Wildcats’ scoring drive and turned the turnover into a scoring drive.

Pittsburg needed just six plays to reach the end zone in the first of three straight scoring possessions. Wright was sharp on the drive, completing four passes for 86 yards. He connected with Chris Brown on a 34-yard pass to get the Pirates out of a deep hole after a procedure penalty pushed them back to the 4-yard line.

Wright also had completions of 18 yards to Chris Brown and six yards to Nick Jackson on the drive. He capped it off with a 28-yard touchdown toss to Farmer. Hunter Hammontree’s extra point gave the Pirates a 7-0 lead with 5:42 left in the first quarter.

Pittsburg covered 68 yards on their next possession, scoring on a Wright 33-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Dube. Wright evaded the defense and an apparent sack on the play before finding Dube in the end zone with 55 seconds remaining in the opening quarter.

The first of two interceptions by Carlos Brown sparked the Pirates to their third touchdown of the game. Starting from the Paris 41-yard line, the Pirates scored in six plays with Tedrick Burns crossing the goal line on a 1-yard plunge to cap off the drive. A 16-yard pass from Wright to Jackson set up the score.

In less than 30 seconds, the Pirates were in the end zone again. This time, Wright stripped the ball away from Paris on their next offensive possession and returned it 33 yards for the touchdown and a 28-0 lead with 8:36 left in the first half. The Wildcats responded with their best drive of the game, covering 83 yards in nine plays, scoring on a 26-yard touchdown pass from Quin Rollerson to Jordan Fields with 4:28 left in the first half.

Paris made the game close, scoring on a 30-yard fumble return with just over three minutes left in the third quarter. The Pirates blocked the extra point, leaving them up 28-13.

Any thoughts of a Paris comeback were dashed on the Wildcats next possession when Carlos Brown picked off his second pass of the game and returned it 23 yards for the score. Hammontree’s PAT gave the Pirates a 35-13 lead as the third quarter came to a close.

Another Paris turnover gave the Pirates the ball at their own 33. Two plays later, Wright darted past the Wildcats defense and raced 63 yards for a 42-13 lead.

Pittsburg turned out the lights on Paris with just over two minutes to go when Burns scored from 11 yards out to cap off the crushing win.

The Pirates close out non-district play next week with a visit to Royse City (4-0), the No. 5-ranked team in Class 3A.
