Dallas has another very good draft, borderline great draft. LVE playing MIKE gives Dallas a guy who can cover as well as play the run. Dallas had their choice of WR, OL and LB. They stuck to their board(a theme throughout the last two drafts) and took their guy. Getting Connor Williams, a first round talent, at 50 could be one of the steals of the draft. Moves from LT to LG and Dallas has the best OL in the NFL. Again. Philadelphia was so concerned that Dallas was preparing to take TE Dallas Goedert that they traded 2 picks to Indy to get him. Michael Gallup at 81 is a pure value pick. Kid can run routes, make contested catches, his game play maximizes his skills. He’s not gonna be Dez but as a potential WR2, he could be a good one folks. 4th round picks Armstrong and Schultz were great value picks at positions that needed a dose of youth and potential. Armstrong has the traits Dallas loves in their pass rushers. Tall, long armed, high motor player. Technique needs work but the kid could be a nice piece of the DE rotation. Schultz could be a good solid TE2. Doesn’t really have one outstanding skill. The fifth round pick of QB Mike White might be the most confusing for some Cowboys fans. Kid’s big with a strong arm and has experience playing in a Dak friendly RPO offense. His ceiling could be as a 10 year backup QB, it could be as a possible Case Keenum/Nick Foles like starting QB. QBs are great lotto tickets. If you hit on one, the return on your investment like be huge. The trade with the Rams for Tavon Austin gives the offense a 3rd pass catching, jet sweep, get the ball in space athlete this offense hasn’t had since Lance Dunbar was here. If he doesn’t pan out, Dallas is out $1m and a 6th round pick. That’s a good Stephen/McClay move. Pick 193 allowed Dallas to double dip at LB with Chris Covington. There were more productive LBs on the board but for what Dallas wants out of him this is a solid pick. Special teams guys aren’t sexy but this kid will start there. Who knows? Maximize his talent and he could fill a Durant/Hitchens/Wilson like role with the LB crew. Cedrick Wilson is a double dip of a . double dip. 2nd WR taken. 2nd player from Boise State taken. Boise State kids turn out to be solid players for the Cowboys. Tank Lawrence. Tyrone Crawford. Orlando Scandrick. Wilson is a bigger WR (6-2,6-3) who can make plays after the catch. I could see him and/or Noah Brown being the replacement for Terrance Williams. Dallas trades ‘17 4th round pick Ryan Switzer to the Raiders for ‘16 2nd round pick DT Jihad Ward. Dallas subtracts from a crowded WR position and adds a young, talented to a very solid d-line. And Dallas finishes out the draft with another solid addition. Bo Scarborough is a big (6-1, 228 pound) thumper of a running back. With this offensive line, you pound the ball with Zeke and then you bring in a even bigger back than him to spell him? That’s just mean.

IMO for Dallas to take the next step, they still need a dominant defensive back, a game changer D-lineman, and now with Dez and Witten gone, a big time WR. Team strengths are O-Line and Linebacker (assuming the big 3 stay healthy).

WeAk draft.... cowboys problem is the the cowboys atmosphere.....

What would you have done differently? Trade up for Derwin James? Draft Ridley or Moore at 19? Trade 50 for Earl Thomas? How would you have strengthened this draft?

Dallas made good picks the first 3 rounds, they should have traded a couple of their "extra" pics to move up in the mid rounds for better players they could have used that got snapped up before they could pull the trigger ... just my opinion ... those extra pics rarely pan out ...
