Last two weeks of district play are going to be good ones. Texas High beat Nac 51-14 Whitehouse beat Mount Pleasant 42-14 Pine Tree beat Hallsville 10-7 Marshall- idle

The Whitehouse/THS game is going to be huge.

Maybe....just maybe we have a chance next week Vs. Nac.

Texas High up 17-0 Nac offense not doing anything thus far

Whitehouse leading 14-0. Sloppy game for both teams with some early turnovers. MP offense not clicking. WH with a couple of big plays.

Never thought I'd see Lufkin in this state, TBH.

I haven't seen an LP crowd that small in my life. That's insane. They are in playoff contention. Wouldn't know it.

I'm SHOCKED at the Lufkin crowd. I know it's been a tough year....and a tough stretch.....but WOW.

Since we are off tonight......and I'm on call..... I'll be sitting at home watching: Whitehouse Vs. Mount Pleasant Longview Vs. McKinney North Nac Vs. Texas High Lufkin Vs. Tyler might even peek in on Pine Tree and Hallsville I'd rather be at a game....but being able to catch 3-4 good ones...that's pretty nice too

This. The amount of usage these facilities get is insane. Just speaking speaking for Marshall… which is a fairly small town…. Maverick Stadium gets used….. Junior High football 4 teams (2 7th and 2 8th) on Mondays and Tuesdays Marching band all week Drill team little league football on Saturdays 2 freshman teams, JV, and Varsity on Thursday’s and Fridays soccer December through March on Tuesdays and Fridays by 4!teams total varsity and JV boys and girls club soccer plays there on Saturdays and sundays junior high and high school track and field ETBU and Wiley both use the track as well Club track uses it Graduation So yeah…. If a community chooses to invest heavily into this facility as long as the taxpayers OK it…. I don’t understand the outrage by some. Esp those that don’t live there.

Interesting thoughts about alignment posted by Matt Stepp today. He is predicting with great certainty that Pine Tree will drop to 4A Division I next season. That drops 9-5A down to just 6 teams.....which too low for as crowded as 5A D-1 has become. PT turned in 1,331 in 2021......I'm guessing the cutoff will be in the 1340-1350 range. That's almost certain to make the Pirates drop. Yikes....that 4A Div I district they drop to might be tougher top to bottom than their current district. Jacksonville is a 50/50 to move back up...... kinda shocks me. They had 1,278 in 2021.....which means they would have to have a but of a surge to move back up. They haven't had much success in 4A D-1 the last 2 seasons. Some said they would..... I think most of us were skeptical. Sulphur Springs was rumored to move back up too....but he didn't even mention them...so that might be a long shot at 1,240 in 2021. Lindale at 1,200 two years ago also seems to be a longshot. So with Jax, Lindale, and SS all unlikely to move up..... That leaves: Texas High Marshall Mount Pleasant Hallsville Whitehouse Nacogdoches He mentions Greenville and Terrell as possible additions. That would create an 8 team districtfor ETX. Can't help but wonder if maybe Texas High and MP don't head down I-30 to join the new Prosper ISD school Walnut grove. District 7 will add them....and likely lose Princeton to 5A Div I (and possibly 6A). Anna will be moving up to Div II as well. The combinations of possibilities are almost endless. 5A Div II Candidates from districts 5, 7, & 8 that could be grouped with ETX schools District 7: Losing Princeton to 5A Div I or 6A. Likely gaining Walnut Grove and Anna Lovejoy Melissa Greenville Denison Walnut Grove Anna Terrell Crandall Mesquite Poteet -------- District 8: Losing Pine Tree to 5A Div I. Possibly gaining Jacksonville and Lindale Texas High Mount Pleasant Marshall Hallsville Whitehouse Nacogdoches Jacksonville Lindale -------- District 5: Corsicana and Ennis have ben grouped with ETX before. They are currently in a South/West Metroplex district with Midlothian, Everman, Mansfield, etc. Corsicana Ennis

Let's take a peek at this week's games....we have some good one! Whitehouse Vs. Mount Pleasant: This game is HUGE. This game could be the difference between hosting a playoff game and hitting the road for a playoff game for each. A Whitehouse win over MP would set up a monster district title showdown next week when Texas High travels to Whitehouse. However....a MP win over Whitehouse could potentially set up a 3 way tie for the district title if WH was to beat Texas High next week. Either way.... the winner of this game will have the inside track to a first round home playoff game.....while the loser could have the daunting task of traveling to Lovejoy in the first round. Nacogdoches Vs. Texas High: The Tigers need a win to keep pace with WH for the district lead....possibly setting up that district title battle next week. Nacogdoches is desperate for a win... that would solidify their playoff hopes. A loss puts them in a must win situation (and possibly some help) to get in next week Vs. Marshall. With a loss to THS.... the Dragons wold drop to (1-4). If PT beats Hallsville, that would put the Pirates at (2-2). Even if Nac was to beat Marshall next week...they could be the odd man out if PT, Marshall, and Nac all finish (2-4). Their loss 23-13 to PT coupled with Marshall's 24 point win over PT could leave Nac out of the post season even with a win next week. Texas High inches closer to their fourth district title in a row with the win. Pine Tree Vs. Hallsville- Hallsville will officially be eliminated from the playoff race with a loss this week. PT keeps their playoff hopes alive with a win.....but they will need some help with Mount Pleasant and Texas High remaining on the schedule. But for now.... a win keeps them alive another week. Marshall- The Mavs are idle but they will be scoreboard watching. A PT win over Hallsville pulls the Pirates into a tie for fourth place with the Mavs...with Marshall having the tie breaker. A Nac loss to T- High keeps the Dragons a game behind Marshall headed into next week's showdown. The Mavs will be cheering for MP to beat Whitehouse. Since the Mavs already lost to MP..... they don't have the tiebreaker over the Tigers.... but a Whitehouse loss to MP coupled with a Whitehouse to T High next week could potentially have Marshall and Whitehouse tied at (3-2) headed into the regular season finale. Clear as mud?

All 11 East Texas 5A and 6A bands got first divisions at contest this past week in Mount Pleasant (Region 4) and Nacogdoches (Region 21). I'm not sure that has ever happened.....ever. $54 million for a 16,000 seat stadium $93 million for an 8,000 seat stadium That math aint mathin' for me. 93M should be a 16-20K stadium EASY. -------- And if the people of PISD vote yes..... then that's no one's business but their own. Unless you are a taxpayer there..... our opinions are irrelevant.

We aren't going to allow anything on the forum that these guys wouldn't hear in the fieldhouse from their own coaches.... hear in the hallways at school....or hear at Walmart...... I'm sure they are just as frustrated as we are....probably more. Same with the staff. I'm holding out hope we will tinker with some things in the coming two weeks.

Hope that’s not the case. But it seems it may be. Time to move on if it is. So hard to find someone that wants to stay in East Texas for any length of time.

We have an outstanding QB on JV this season. He's going to be special. Freshman QB (A team) is looking pretty good too. We have help coming. But we've been on this 4 year experiment with who we have now.....and...well.... I see nothing but regression from freshman year to senior year. Is that on the staff? Or is that on the player? Ready to get off this merry go round.
