  1. You must like Ice Skating and Gymnastics these are 2 sports that the winner is determined by the votes of judges.
  2. What if High School State Champions were determined by the BCS. Every two years every High School coach would be waiting for the realighnment to come out and pray they are not put in a week district because then they would not have a chance to win it all. Until we have a playoff there will never be a true National Championship Team. Auburn from the great SEC went undefeated and got left out one year. With all this said the winner of the OU and Florida game will be number 1 and thats the way it should be because it is the system that we have. I would put Utah at number 2 they have had a great year. By the way Utah was scheduled to play Texas in 2009 but back out. Might help their cause if they played 2 teams from a BCS Conference.
  3. Mack Brown simply does his job. He works for the University of Texas and is going to do what is in the best interest for UT and its players and coaching staff. Most people that love and follow college football understand this. Urban Myers is right if your coach is not doing what Mack Brown, Pete Carroll and the University of Utah coach is doing than he is not doing his job. Lets face it UT has alot of detracters and they will see what Mack Brown is doing is whinning, that is just the nature of having rivals.
  4. If you are in cover 2 how do you adjust to trips. We check three to trips. This is a good check but now the defense is dictating what coverage I get in.
  5. You can do it for 20 yards down the field if you want to as long as the ball is not in the air. The 5 yard rule is only in the NFL.
  6. I would take Tebow because he is just a pure football player. As a coach sometimes you are lucky enough to coach someone that would be your best player on the team no matter where you played them and I think Tebow is one of those players. He is a born leader on and off the field, and a winner on and off the field.
  7. If you jam and play man to man all night , you better have the better athletes out there. Carthage can and will throw the ball if that is what you are going to give them. Carthage to me has always been a sleeping giant and the rest of us in 3a in East Texas are going to have to step it up to keep up with them. I wish they would have stayed asleep. Shoud be a good game. Old Tradition vs The start of a New Tradition. Good Luck to all involved. Carthage 28-21
  8. I wish this thread never got started because I knew someone would come on here and belittle what this young man has done. I saw Rodney Thomas play when he was a Freshman all the way through till he was a senior in high school and yes it was JUST 2a ( the man could not help where he was born ). Shead reminds me of Rodney in the way he plays and how he carrys himself off the field. He is going to be in Rivals top 200 football players in the country next year. I hope he signs early for someone so he does not have to put up with stuff like this next year. And for those of you that don't know this, AD could have played for podunk ISD in class c and still got notice by colleges because talents like him and Shead do not go un-notice by anybody. Lets do him a favor and just let this thread die and wish him and his teamates luck in winning the ring on Saturday.
  9. I am not close to situation like FIVETOOL but with that said I can tell you that there is no reason for me to doubt what FIVETOOL has said the scouts have told him on the sideline. I to have only seen him play one game and I think he is a good running back. As far as D1 material I will go by what the people that are getting paid to judge that say. The same scouts that cover Cayuga cover our school as well and they tell us that the Shead kid is a good D1 prospect.
  10. It does not happen very much but it does happen that some teams are so talented that that they could play up 1 or 2 classifications and still be very good. 1983 Dangerfield team is still the best team I have ever seen in person ever and they were just 3a. Alto 2 years ago could have beat alot of 3a Teams. Big Sandy of the early 70s could have beat some teams up in classification. I could go on but I will stop there. If you would come see Cayuga play or warm up you would see that they have 3a talent across the board, linemen , backs , Wr, QB but what they do not have is 3a Depth, and that would play a factor in whether they would win or lose but they would not lose by 70. Of course this is just my opinon and that is what this board is about.
  11. I would get up early to go to these sessions.
  12. Yall have to much fun. I hope it continues for at least another week. Who knows Fivetool and Branch may have to give a clinic talk at coaching school next year. See Ya Saturday and goodluck.
  13. When Dangerfield goes on one of these playoff runs like this year it does not end until the state championship game at least. Dangerfield 34 Blanco 7. I will give them one TD something weird could happen.
  14. Oh and I forgot. Good luck Cayuga all of Anderson Co. is rooting for you.
  15. Sometimes the best way to get rid of a pest is to ignore him or her.
  16. I am a big UT fan that also thinks some of us need to lighten up. If Alabama beats Utah some may think that Utah is over ranked. One of Ohio States losses came when their stud TB was not playing , he could have missed both games in which they lost I am not sure, anyway they will be a worthy opponent.
  17. I am a Longhorn Fan but you could put McCoy, Bradford , Chase , and Harrell all in a hat draw one out and you could not go wrong with putting any of them on the 1st Team. Great Year for Big 12 Qbs.
  18. I would not waist the money on it myself. I think it was a waist of money in Stillwater and Austin to fly the banners , but as long as College Football Champs are decieded by vote instead of on the field stuff like this may get worse before they get better.
  19. Bleeds sometimes common sense needs to be applied sometimes. There for years there was a law still on the books in Pennslyvania that stated that to drive a night their had to be a person with a latern 40 paces in front. According to you if a Highway Patrolman wanted to he could stop them and write them a ticket . Would it be unfair of the Judge to throw it out because of common sense or is a Law a Law and you go by it no matter what. I know that the rule for the 5th tiebreaker says use the BCS rankings to determine who plays in the Big 12 championship but if it goes against common sense (which 95% of the sporting world thinks so) should it not be addressed this year instead of next. I really don't know how much thought was put into this rule because it was the 5th tie breaker. I will close with this I hope the Big 12 does well in all its Bowl games and lets hopr for a playoff in the next 10 years or so.
  20. LoL this is the funniest thing I have read in weeks.
  21. Always leave the decision who should be in the Big 12 Championship game to electronic machines.
  22. Never try to justify a bad decision by the BCS or Big 12 45-35
  23. Hate to get off the subject but how is Dallas not a true neutral site. Half the stadium is filled in red and the other half orange, and Norman and Austin are almost the same distance apart ( Norman is alittle closer but not much ).
  24. If two teams are close in the BCS in points like. .9863 to .9876 then yes head to head could be used. If it is more like .9863 to .7892 then no there is to big of a difference. It does not matter what talk show or sportscenter you watch, everbody but sooner fans think what happen to Texas should not have happend. 90% of the sports world thinks it is a joke. But if the shoe was on the other foot I would be happy to. I just wish people would just stop trying to justify it.
