The Kilgore JV run defense is pretty salty. Had a couple of great goal line stands. The d-line and lbs look pretty good.
-
As far as I know they are still playing.

How's the Carthage JV look this year?

I believe our JV was 7-2 last year. Center did not have a JV, and we lost to Texas by 4?, then CH in district, 22-20?
-
Quite a few of those juniors are still on the JV. As far as I can tell, only the o-line, rb, a te, a fb, and maybe 3-4 defensive players moved up. Kilgore has quite a few sophomores on varsity. I don't believe they have moved anyone up or down since the season has started. If they lose to CH, might be time to start looking and shuffling the deck.

Kilgore JV. 12 Pitt JV. 8 I believe Kilgore Freshmen won 28-16? Both are now 5-0.

If we continue to play like we did against T-High, without costly turnovers and penalties, we'll walk out with a win. When the offense is working like it should, it is tough to stop.

It was two years ago, 2016. I am glad to see we were finally able to start establishing an inside game. It was needed. The Oline coming together helps.

42-14. Good win. Nice to see the team coming together.

This.. This is exactly what I have been saying. Let's send the fullbacks up the gut a few times to keep the defense from spreading out. I have faith that the coaches will get it sorted out soon enough. This isn't the first year Kilgore has had a slow start. New QB, new backs, new OL. It takes times for everyone to get on the same page. The talent is there, just have to make it work.

Hallsville's Freshman class is pretty good. Great size and speed. Their running back, #1, was hard to take down and had moves. #82, played WR. About 6'1 and made good plays. Kilgore's Freshmen looked good. Not as large as last year's class, but they have good speed. Defense did a great job. I only saw the last few minutes of the 3rd and all of the 4th in that game. Was 7-7 going in to the 4th. Was a great game.

Just a guesstimate, but I think the JV gave up maybe 2-3 firstdowns and 40-50 rushing yards.

I think the JV might come together and be pretty salty. We'll see.

It isn't hard to beat a team that either options left, or options right. Mix in some smash mouth up the middle, now you've got a different type of creature. Granted, Nac had some 300lbs behemoths in the center of the d-line, but toward the end of the game, Kilgore had some decent carries up the middle. In the first half, not so much. Maybe the big boys were getting a little gassed toward the end. Kilgore actually passed quite a bit in the game. I think somewhere around 12-15 passing attempts?
-
I did not get to see the Freshman team, but the JV looked decent enough. A few missed snaps and assignments, but they should come together soon enough.

Kilgore, but man.. need to find some sort of power running game to help.
