I used to respect Gilmer, but last night Traylor showed that he has ZERO Class... players acted like they grew up in tha hood.. very disappointed in what we saw last night..

I could see that.. I could even painfully see it being worse for Kilgore.. these kids are still learning.. I'm hopeful that Kilgore can make this a good game and maybe even squeak out a W. I know that Val is giving you guys your props and the respect that you deserve.. Kilgore's young team shows promise for the future... passing game under construction.. defense moves pretty quick to the ball, secondary better than it has been in the past.. all that said, inexperience is hard to overcome.. either way I know that Kilgore and Gilmer are friendly foes that will root each other on as the season progresses.. hopefully no injuries..

I was at this game.. I will admit you guys had some drop passes.. but, that's football, your biggest problem was that you couldn't stop kilgore's run game.. I looked at the game film after this game and Kilgore's Oline was making holes that a lot of us older guys could've ran thru.. that was the difference maker.. I agree that Gilmer didn't play a perfect game.. but you also couldn't stop the run game and hence couldn't stop the clock.. smash mouth kilgore football...

just for the record.. i'm pulling for whouse.. k? I'm just saying.. Red Oak has a good squad.. don't discount them.. If Whouse beats them this year you will have to play good football.. don't set yourself up for an I told you so on saturday.. Go House!

No offense but if Kilgore loses.. and I do think the odds are against them.. I'm gonna say that Kilgore did not play well against gilmer.. and I'm gonna mention how they started 10+ sophomores... is that ok.. lol. j/k :coolio: (no really, lol) ... I do think that Val will have to pull a rabbit out of his hat to beat Gilmer this year.. (if anyone could it would be him).. this is a very young team.. the youngest Val has ever coached in Kilgore.. by the way you're correct. Traylor has played Kilgore only once.. but, the record as of now is 3-0 in favor of Kilgore.. 1996, 28-7 Dogs - 1997, 45-22 Dogs and of course last year 28-14 Dogs..

I sure hope you're right dawgdaze.. but, I bet Gilmer isn't "Starting" 10 sophomores this year! actually I know they're not.. hopefully the Vallery Xfactor will kick in and help the dogs.. For what it's worth...Traylor is winless against Kilgore thus far.

I can tell you right now.. Red Oak is a very balanced team. My best friend lives there and his kids play ball for Red Oak... I watched them play against HPark.. the game was closer then what the score displayed.. Red Oak has a good Run game.. and a good passing game.. they have several weapons.. Ishmail(Rocket) is "one of" their hot recievers.. very fast.. Kentrell Holmes is an excellent speedy receiver as well.. pretty good D as well.. I'd say based upon what I saw in Red Oak that Whouse and whoever ROak plays out of 14-4A in the 1st round should be ready to play a good game.. these kids are pretty scrappy. If you chalk this up as an early win, you'll go home with a L.. I'm rooting for you guys cuz I don't want to hear my buddy talk trash! Go House!!

very good point... DFW may dominate in 5A, but that's because they have a multitude of 5A schools...East Texas has very few.. but, when you consider 4A - 1A.. which is the majority.. east texas owns this ground..

I agree.. if Gilmer does that this year, they will have another year like they did when GJ Kinney was there.. losing early when they could have gone a long way.. I would pick Carthage straight up.. regular season or playoffs. hopefully they both will go all the way and bring back a DI and DII titles for east texas.. same way it should've been in 04 with Kilgore and Marshall..
