They won't even represent their district in the playoffs much less be ranked in the top 20.

Jefferson

Daingerfield

Queen City

will represent the district. Bad district they got put in this go around.

HAHAHA

dude are you serious?

chapel hill beat the dog #### outa queen city last year..

their JV ran through everybody in their district..

they beat clarksville, who was ranked #10(or around there) at the time.

they beat whitewright in the playoffs, who was ranked #11

jefferson was what, #12??

chapel hill has the team to beat year in and year out..

they always are blowin people away during "rebuilding years"

they were in one hell of a district last year-- clarksville, prariland, chisum, rivercrest, chapel hill, honey grove, dekalb.

no im not comin here talkin ####, but hey.. if they dont beat dangerfield or jefferson, they will give them a run for the money..

i dont believe that queen city is even in the race..

are yall serious about this??

how is MP- CH not in the top 20 for preseason??

they are returning 6 lettermen

and had one heck of a JV last year..

i think they will be in contention for the region's representation to state.

Coach keith does a very good job. He had really good talent @ WR when he got it going. When he moved to Arp, a couple of very good players went with him & helped Arp "turn it around". It sounds like they might have gotten another "move-in"...from Jacksonville? They did beat Kountze a few years ago in the regionals, but Kountze's starting pg didn't play & he was definately the straw that stirred the drink for them. But cudos to Arp & coach Keith, he is a good coach.

Chapel Hill has been solid for years. They did beat Whitewright last year, but WR was also missing their starting pg(from that morning's incident). CH will always be in the hunt & are in a tough district w/ DF & Jeff!

2 schools to watch out for in DII-A are Slocum & Miller Grove!

they stomped a very inexperienced WO team at the very beginning of the season. if ud a played them later in the season, the outcome would not have been the same

Jefferson progressed later on as well, either way they would have won... i guess we will see when it comes around again this year. Maybe when we win again, you can use the same excuse.

I started thank you very much. I hardly ever even seen the bench. Just failed a drug test my senior year. He is a good coach, but I just don't like him.

Lets see you fail a drug test (must of been coachs fault) he kicked you off the team and now you dont like him. Wow I guess the coach made you go out and do drugs in the 1st place shame on him

Coach Keith isn't that good of a coach he has had talent his whole coaching career. Arp will strugle and Braylon Williams will dominant Arp in both games. and i said White Oak would be the team to beat, yes watch out for Kounzte, but also watch out for New Waverly

That has to be the most unintelligent post ever made on Smoaky. Oh, and to back up the whole unintelligent part, the word is DOMINATE not dominant.

:bangin:

This will be a nice post to reference later. Smart move WestRusk85.

Didn't kick me off the team I quit and I didn't do drugs I just smoked weed :censored: . So shame on you

OMG, "I just smoked weed" Um, what do you think weed is? Legal? Is there a reason they have a group called NA? Find one. Attend a local/open meeting. Please. Not ragging on you dude. Get help.

If you have medical needs, see a doctor, but seriously, don't smoke away your future.

Yeah Jefferson has solid talent. After watching them last year, arp gameplanned to contest the 3 but be ready for the drive to the basket. I don't remember how many guys they exactly lost, I know that Clarence Lee is back and he is really good. I think the remainder of their starters were seniors. I saw WO and Sabine last year and wasn't impressed at all. I know that this is a new year, but I don't see a dramatic change. They are helped by being in a down district. They each have some shooters but I'm not sold on their athletic ability to compete in the region but thats why you play the game. Their district isn't going to provide competition though and its tough to play for 8 weeks blowing teams out and then to turn it on in the playoffs when the games are tight.

We have Clarence Lee coming back and Jefferson's best overall player coming back-Cordell Robertson. By the the way, we kicked disrict champ White Oak rear ends twice last year by at least 20 in both games.

I'm sure that's exactly what Clarksville and Rivercrest thought last year too. You might check in with them, 'cause MP Chapel Hill was a playoff team last year and returns several from that team (along with last year's successful JV squad).

All I know is this.....pure talent ain't gonna win this district. The successful teams are going to have talent and coaching, and I know for a fact that MP Chapel Hill has both.

We'll see how it plays out. I'll definitely be watching.

Cordell Robertson  He is freakin good. Yall did kill White Oak last year but keep in mind that when you did play us we weren't clicking yet. Last year's team was really young and it took them most of the season to get rolling. That's expected when you have a young team. They won't be the same team this year but go ahead and assume it'll be another 20+ blowout, I always like the underdawgs :zorro:

Bryan Malone is an amazing coach, i know that for a fact, and in case u didnt know Jefferson was a playoff team last year too.

I can admit I know virtually nothing about Jefferson, Daingerfield, or Queen City. But, those three teams had nothing to do with my original post which you referenced. As my original post mentioned, I just find it hard to understand how these preseason polls can be considered all that noteworthy or accurate when they exclude a team like MP Chapel Hill. I think Whitewright's inclusion and MP Chapel Hill's exclusion makes my point for me.

It'll all come out in the wash in February.

Haha no way, after how far Jefferson went last year and how bad they beat us both times there's no way were favored to beat them. I don't give a flip what the preseason rankings say, their usually garbage anyways as most people are on here arguing about. I don't see how Jefferson's not ranked if their bring back Cordell, let alone others. lol

Yeah the Preseason rankings arent looking too good, but i mean atleast it gives u a reason to support your teams haha, i do however think that this game will be closer than last years...but its still a long ways away.

Yes mp ch does have a good and firey coach indeed haha. Also a good assistant coach who stepped up when coach hanks was kicked out of the p-land game.

i saw WO, whenever they played jefferson, because i am from jefferson, and went to all the games...jefferson stomped WO with ease, by the 3rd all of your fans were leaving... thats the white oak team im talking about.

Ok now I have my facts straight. I talked to my brother and he said we be white oak by 30 points 4 days after losing to Daingerfield in the 1st round of the football playoffs. We then played white oak again in the Spring Hill tourney and destroyed u guys by 40 something. Like I said we have the all district player Clarence Lee coming back (by the way- he didn't even start), we have distict MVP Cordell Robertson returning and we have other players capable of stepping in coming off of the district champs JV team. At least 4 players will be 6'3 to 6'4.

The jefferson-white oak will be a fun game to watch. I think arp exposed jefferson a little in the regional tournament by proving that they can't shoot the ball and that they try to get everything to the rim. Jefferson seemed frustrated all night. If white oak does what arp did, then white oak wins, but if the game gets into a full court battle then jefferson takes the game based on athletic ability.

Like I said earlier, we weren't playing good at all during that time of the season. The guys were still getting used to varisty basketball and what it's all about at White Oak. You guys graduated alot from last year, but your returning some. We bring back the whole team basically. I'm just saying it shouldn't be a 40+ blowout this year. Besides, yall should have beaten us last year. Yall were loaded (apparently had quite a few good seniors) and had good leadership. That will be the case for us this year. I'm excited to see how it plays out

For those reasons I would not be surprised at all to see White Oak run some zone, pack in the lane and just let jefferson shoot contested 3's. I know White Oak is always good at taking charges, thats one thing that is harped on them everyday at practice. Hopefully we play smart and don't let the atmosphere get us rattled. It's gonna be a dandy
