Blueberry

Cherry Cream

Apple

Butter Milk

Pecan

With Bluebell icecream

 

Cookies:

Sugar Cookies with Cream Cheese frosting

Snicker Doodles

Cream Cheese bars

 

 

Butterfinger desserts

 

Don't even get me started on the Christmas Stuff -

 

My wife can flat out Bake -

my favorite snack...it sounds weird but...fresh grown tomatoes and cucumbers from the garden. sliced medium with a dash of kosher salt..fresh cracked pepper and a drizzle of olive oil on them.

It actually sounds kinda good......but just what the hell is "kosher salt" :huh:

It actually sounds kinda good......but just what the hell is "kosher salt" :huh:

 

 

it's a semi-coarse salt...probably a cross between rock salt and table salt. theoretically it's been blessed by some Rabi somewhere so that it's OK for Jewish people to eat. the Rabi thing is totally not why i use it. it has a bit more texture and it's, believe it or not...not as salty as regular table salt. it's what's used in most commercial kitchens when they're salting prior to cooking. it's hand's down the best thing to coat a steak with prior to putting on the grill because of it's coarse texture it holds up better than regular table salt. i'm sure there's a dozen brands of it at specialty and large grocery stores but Morton's is about the most common and that's what i cook with. once i started using it i loved it.

 

i can't lie i watch Food Network because i love to cook and that's where i first discovered it. but once i started using it i got hooked.
