The crew was not great but it was better than the one we had in Jasper week ago.

You have me there my friend. We have no state titles. Like I said I am not being cocky just pointing out my own facts. Kinda hard not to win state when you had the athletes you had. Creer, Hodge etc etc.

Would all of you guys just shut up already. I mean none of the games the past few weeks mean diddly right now. Center needs to worry about carthage this week and Ch and SH need to focus on each other. This is East Texas football any team can win any given night. they all have weapons that can score on any given play. It boils down to who prepares the best. We all have our ups and downs just enjoy them and lets have some good sportmanship.

Lets get some things cleared up on this thread. Our starting quarterback played all four quarters because our backup went down wiht an injury in the 2nd quarter.2 of our starting offensive linemen were pulled the second half. And we did run the ball in the second half. They just failed to stop it. Also they (bullard) kept throwing the ball late into the fourth quarter when they could have easily ran the clock down themselves and saved themselves some face. Our kids played as they have all year. Bullard just for some reason feels like they were picked on. Fact is noone got on here last week when Rusk ran the score up on their arseat homecoming. But because CENTER does it its all wrong. Now to Carthage good for them and what they do. I am glad they play with class. I think we will play them a tough game. THe kids from Center just have to play their a game. Enough said. Good luck to all next friday night.

After reading this post and seing where it is going i figured i would put my 2 cents in on it. First of all let me say that the guys that actually play the game on friday do not reflect the arrogance that ridemrough07 is currently displaying. They are actually humble and hard working. Are they confident, yes but cocky and arrogant no. They see a great opportunity in front of them to make the playoffs in 18-AAA this year and are working hard for that. Second don't act like this group has not seen sucess before. Most of this team has either gone very deep into the playoffs in basketball or won a district chamionship in track last year. So they know what success is and feels like and what it takes to get there. IT does not matter what sport, to be successful it takes hard work and dedication. Something these guys have learned to do. Now as for the game on Friday they just have to come out with the same intensity they have all season long and the game will take care of itself. Bullard does have a few weapons. So does everyone else in east Texas. I see a score of around 50-7, however i would like to see another shutout.

ok, after reading all this garbage, i have to interject with my own personal thoughts. First off lets put all team vs team player vs player fantasies to rest. For one I would not mind a few of Joaquin's lineman playing for Center. After that thats about it. As far as linebackers it is no comparison. Center has 2 of the best linebackers in the area in Quincy Hudspeth #57 and Grant Belrose #8. So i doubt we will be needing or even care for having a linebacker from Jokequin. And lets talk about powerhouses. Who does Jokequin play??????? Shelbyville, Timpson, Mt enterprise blaH BLAH BLAH. And don't get me wrong Shelbyville is my alma mater but even I know better. IF you even think for a minute that a joaquin or mt enterprise would play 2 quarters with some of the power houses that Center has played the past few years you are seriously mistaken. (Carthage yearly, Nac, Gilmer, Tatum, LE must I go on) Now notice i did not say you didn't have players that could make plays against these teams, but as a whole you would get dumped with your 11 vs any of our 11 or the teams we have played 11. Also lets talk records.....Oh conveniently smoaky has a link for that. Yes Jokequin has had a good run the past 7 years but that is about it. So until you do something a little bit more stay in your corner of Shelby county and let us handle our spot. as someone who was part of that last baseball playoff appearance from shelbyville i know we would have been devastated if something like this had happened. Too much hard work goes into a season like this. Especially for the seniors who will never have an opportunity to play in front of their home crowd again it is a very tough pill to swallow. it will take them a while to get over this they will have the what if's for a long time. As a coach ,this would be nothing but sheer motivation for me in the future not to mention i know the kids coming back would have fire in their eyes. Good luck in the future Shelbyville!!!!!!!!!

center roughriders are once again in a tough district but have many key players returning for what looks to be an improved team. schedule is still a good one returning starters 9total 6 def/6 off (several went both ways) returning letterman these guys actually played quite a bit 11 lost 6 seniors only 3 were key contributors returning starters at qb, tb, wr, rt, rg, de, mlb, wlb, all secondary not to say we will win state but we will be much improved schedule gladewater, nacogdoches, chapel hill, spring hill, bullard diboll, carthage, jasper, rusk, hunington (district) have to win rusk, diboll, and hunington last years schedule chapel hill, tatum, gilmer, nacogdoches, liberty eyleau diboll, carthage, crockett, rusk, hunington

nacogdoches won the overall tournament center came in second after a rematch from pool play center beat nac on a coin flip in a 1 to 1 game. harleton was also in the tournamnet and looked good strong infield with good arms. center looked good they have a great group of underclassmen to go with good leadership. they have a lightning fast center fielder, and several decent pitchers. joaquin looked good after getting everyone back from basketball. other teams in the tournament were trinity, jasper, shelbyville, carlisle, alto, harleton jv, beckville jv, trinity jv, center 2 jvs, beckville jv.

others 2 watch ashley shculz and rachel jacobs 2 freshman from center

watch out for the center lady riders this year they have a good team from what i have seen in several tournaments. good bats and good pitching from 2 freshman
