RETIREDFAN1
I'll take that......now they need to get things together in the offseason and get in the playoff hunt next season.......
THSfanatic
I'm ok where we are. I was looking for around 75 wins which was very doable if Springer hadn't gone down early and we had gotten either of the bullpen arms back we were counting on. Need to definitely tighten the bullpen. I would like to see a 500 record next year. We're trending up which is all you can ask

RETIREDFAN1
Not good. Was 31-48 when the Dbacks cut him loose midway into his second year 89-123 in Arizona They must have got him cheap, then......too bad they didn't go out and get someone who may actually have helped a little bit........ topher805
They must have got him cheap, then......too bad they didn't go out and get someone who may actually have helped a little bit........Really wanted them to steal Ausmus from Detroit. Berkman was another sentimental favorite. Realistically Ron Gardenhire sounded good to me

topher805
I think this offseason will be very telling about the Lunhow/Crane era. This move doesn't inspire a lot of confidence but I will keep an open mind for now and see how this plays out...
DaveTV1
They must have got him cheap, then......too bad they didn't go out and get someone who may actually have helped a little bit........ I agree. I saw this last night, and just shook my head. I realize that the Stro's are looking good for the future, but I don't think this is the guy to handle the job. His resume is very poor, and he hasn't led any team to any division titles. He looks like another scapegoat if the Astros don't improve.
RETIREDFAN1
On a side note....the Astros open at home next April with a 3 game series against the Indians......
THSfanatic
My only downer this year was the Aiken debacle. UNTIL this hiring. Hope I'm wrong. But this one has me questioning the thought process. I'm really not buying it being about money. If that was the reason they could have kept the interim
topher805
Soo many questions going through my mind about this hiring... They had 10 candidates. Was the pool shallow? Were candidates skeptical about working for Lunhow and Hinch was the only to take the bait? Did he go to a magical coaching school since he left Arizona? Is he a "yes" man for Lunhow? I just don't know what to think. I wasn't looking for a big splash hire, but something better than this. Again, maybe he will be better than I am thinking, and I will try to keep an open mind, but this just feels weird...
RETIREDFAN1
Is he a "yes" man for Lunhow? That probably had more to do with it than anything else......
THSfanatic
Still in a little disbelief. I sure would have liked Bogar who was my favorite all along. I sure hope this works out

RETIREDFAN1
Joe Maddon is on the market now. If only we could have snagged him... He doesn't appear to be the butt kisser that that Astros GM wants as a manager........Astros AND Texans need to fire their GM's.......they are killing us......
