WestwoodPantherPride
Is anyone watching the web feed?? I was watching the previous game and then the Yates/Lancaster pre-game came on and it kept pausing to buffer and now nothing! I'm really hating my foolish decision to not go to Austin this year. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
EasTexHorn
Crashed for me right at tipoff. I haven't been able to get through since.
flukeshot
Same thing for me. It made it all the way through introductions and then just stopped as a Lancaster player was going for a layup off the tip. I knew something was happening when it started pausing to buffer at the very end of the Ponder game. That site so overloaded the server probably exploded. WestwoodPantherPride
I almost made it to the tipoff, saw everyone gathering around the Longhorn, then nothing. Anyone know of a streaming radio feed? Of course, odds are that it suffered the same fate as the FSSW feed.
EasTexHorn
Don't know anything about a radio feed, but here is a link to the live stats feed from the UIL website: UIL Site
flukeshot
Believe this is the radio feed: http://www.kcohradio.com/listenlive/default.asp It's in and out though. Lot of buffering.

flukeshot
Apparently one of the Yates players had to leave the floor in the fourth due to feeling faint, then came back in to nail four three pointers late. Maybe he was just too good for karma? :whome:
flukeshot
Anyway, that's the darnedest thing I've ever seen. Fox Sports video feed went down, the radio feed kept dropping, and the stupid UIL scoreboard kept going out on me. Lot of people hoping to see Yates lose I guess. flukeshot
Lot of people wondered back during district play if maybe Yates might fold if they ever found themselves behind late. Down 1 with 4 minutes to go against a game opponent, with one starter fouled out and another feeling dizzy, they finish the game on a 21-1 run to salt it away. Question answered. Emphatically. Would have been something to see. I know it's not really Fox's fault, but would have been nice.

So it was not new territory for them.
Wizard1
Yates just exploded the last 4 minutes of the game. Man, they can turn it on. Honestly though, they didn't look like the best team in the nation for most of the game. Usually they pass to the open guy, but for most of the game, they were very selfish... lot's of 1 on 1 ball. When they drove in, they should have kicked it out to the shooter's spotted up, but instead they were called for a lot of charges and/or had it blocked by the 6'10 guy for Lancaster. Thought they played better last year.
topher805
I was on the floor during that game. The gym was electric whenever Yates touched the ball. It was a really fun game to be at.

Well why don't you just go recruit a team of players then to beat Yates. Get all white ones remember you don't want any "thugs" on your team because they wouldn't enjoy the game since they couldnt have the joy of beating a white team lol

The UIL is a joke for allowing this type of trash to happen. Of course, the UIL won't investigate Yates because of being afraid of the NAACP and all of those other groups of whiners who think anytime a black person or group is investigated for doing wrong that racism has to be involved. The UIL allows illegal recruiting to go on all over the state because they don't have the guts to do anything about it.

They are HIGH SCHOOL KIDS congrats to lancaster for giving yates all they wanted for 28 minutes! congrats to yates - you had a group of kids who played AAU together for years under Wise, used the system (State and UIL), hired Wise, got all the kids to the same school and got what you wanted... In response to a thread on a different page : yes and no... no rules broken... everything "legit" on paper... cant keep kids parents from moving... but yes, TO MY KNOWLEDGE, coming from a gentleman from houston (former coach, current principal) and other sources..... these kids played AAU ball for Wise.... Wise takes job at Yates... magically, they are there.... including kid from Lufkin... with rules the way they are... itd be nearly impossible for a 4a or 5a in NE Texas to make it to Austin.... having to go through Dallas and Houston and the transfers... not fair, but nature of the beast... current trend... new schools popping up outside of these big cities.... kids leaving to go to the new facilities.... ex/ Fort Bend... something like 4 schools maybe 10 years ago... about 10 now... and surprise, surprise... new 5A state champion crowned today.... Fort Bend school

Couldn't agree more. For anyone to think that this bunch of recruits is a real champion is a flipping travesty, and the UIL just sits and watches it happen. Wow. Houston Yates is a joke for even calling themselves a school. You are a glorified AAU hotbed.
