What will this discussion be next week after Arp loses another game to HS and Tatum getting blown out by Henderson? Not saying this is going to happen but what if?

I wouldn't put much stock in the younger brother yet. He was not anywhere near varsity level last year so we will see how he has matured this year.

This kid is a good athlete, but has not developed into a great varsity athlete yet. I hope this does not affect him in a negative way in the future. He definitely has the potential just like his brother.

If you have over 100 applicants and only 5 of them are black, do you hire a black man? Or do you hire the most qualified man? If the most qualified man happens to be black, then he certainly gets the job. This is a numbers game with bad odds.

With all of these smart phones out now, there are apps such as Team App that could be used to post updates and messages. It works really good and is cool. This incident bothers me because the coach is a boys coach, so there is no need for him to have females phone numbers to start with. This incident is not the first either, only the first with black and white evidence.

Coach Pope did not participate in the summer leagues. Although he was a good coach, player development is very crucial. These girls coming up now were downstream when he was there. Spring Hill is still suffering from a few years ago having those budget cuts. That's when coach Duncan was let go and also Coach Taylor on the boys side which now these two are running the program at Sabine. Spring Hill needs these coaches they have now to stay for a while and the programs will come back. These kids of late just saw too much turnover.

Do you think he just started being this way when he got to Troup? No! There board and supt hired him. They are accountable for what is happening too. Times are different now and he's an old school coach. Many of the old coaches 30 or 40 years ago would be going through these same things if they were still around. Many would be fired. Troup knew what they were hiring and then when I came down to there own kid, it all turned around. Most kids feared him to some degree but played there butts off for him and all enjoyed the success they had. When the dust settled, he was a great guy and then the respect grew for him. He has turned many kids into men over the years. Produced many successful coaches that at one time he was very hard on. Let's just face the truth. Times have changed and we all have become very soft. I'm going to say that I only wish my kids could have played for him because it would have made my job much easier as a parent. But who am I, just another old school person that sits back and watches these kids show no respect to parents, coaches, teachers, referees etc. Makes me sick!

I was referring to an earlier post saying that Newton has not faced a D like Arp. I'm sticking with my guns. Regular season games do matter. Newton has played some stiff competition and are very well prepared for what Arp brings. Newton will end Arps season.

Coach, I guess you never learned the words to our school song while you were here. Red and Blue! There have been a lot of schools adding black with there scheme lately. Henderson just added silver. Unlike the past, Henderson has many combinations of uniforms just like many colleges have gone to. I'm old school like you and like tradition but it is what it is these days.

Me either! And the posts were about the same as they are now. About the only thing impressive when they played Henderson was they didn't get many opportunities to blow that loud horn.
