Derek Jeter 3. Alex Rodriguez 4. Dontrelle Willis 5. Alfonso Soriano 6. Roger Clemens 7. Albert Pujols 8. Vladimir Guerrero 9. Hideki Matsui 10. Ryan Howard HAVE NOT SEEN 1. Mickey Mantle 2. DaveTV1
My greatest players of all time: 1. Lou Gerhrig 2. Roberto Clemente 3. Babe Ruth 4. Joseph Jackson 5. Jackie Robinson 6. Joe DiMaggio 7. Cyrus Young 8. Christy Matthewson 9. Honus Wagner 10. Reggie Jackson - I know he shouldn't be in the top 10, but he was a hero of mine, and I have to include him. I like the "Georgia Peach", and yes he was a sourly character, and deservedly so. Before anyone jumps on me for my #7 pick, Denton True Young, Cyrus Young won the gold in the 1952 Olympics. If you know the history of this great game the volumes that Ruth's achievements speak is very loud. The rich history of baseball is unparalleled in sport. HankTheCowDog
I'll show my age here. Before the Rangers existed, I was a Cubs and Twins fan. My favorites then: Ron Santo Billy Williams Tony Oliva Harmon Killebrew More recently, a couple of Rangers who played the game the way it was meant to be played: Rusty Greer Michael Young

DaveTV1
I like what Mantlelives4ever did, and broke it down to players he saw and players he read about or saw on footage. I'll rank them the same way: Players I never saw play the game: 1. Lou Gerhrig 2. Roberto Clemente 3. Babe Ruth 4. "Shoeless" Joe Jackson 5. Jackie Robinson 6. Joe DiMaggio 7. Denton True "Cy" Young 8. Christy Matthewson 9. Honus Wagner 10. Walter Johnson Players I have seen: 1. Reggie Jackson 2. Ricky Henderson 3. Derek Jeter 4. Nolan Ryan 5. Albert Pujols 6. Ron Guidry 7. Dave Parker 8. Cal Ripken 9. Rod Carew 10. Bucky Dent - hit the greatest homerun in my opinion. He threw me a foul baseball, when he was the 1st Base Coach for the Rangers and I was in Yankees garb.

They are always full of players who play the game the right way. It would be impossible to list the Rangers who fit that bill. THe easier thing to do would be to name the Rangers who DON'T play the game the right way. That is why I can be a Rangers fan whether they go 100-62 or 62-100. Generally speaking, they are a team full of hustlers (as in work hard) with good attitudes. A couple of other teams who portray that style are the Cubs and the ANAHEIM Angels. Guest bleedsbluengold24
I read in a Rangers program the first year the Ballpark at Arlington opened a bio on Rusty Greer. The one thing in that article that stuck in my mind was he answer to the question "Why don't we ever see you on the news or in the paper like so many other high profile players in professinal sports?" His answer: "My dad told me a long time ago to do my job and keep my mouth shut." WOW! What a work ethic. I have shared that quote with my son, and for the most part, it has paid off, so far. Add Rusty to my list.
