BudaSooner
Big thumbs up to Nate Boyer

Lots of admiration for him for his service to his country and for his dedication to work his way into the long-snapper job at Texas.

That said, he blew it a bit in his remarks while being interviewed by the ESPN emcee... twice bringing up the race issue in his remarks. Unnecessary to mention that he was white or not white... Came across as a bit racist...

h-town12
Joel Joeckel from the University of Texas A&M* brings home the Outland trophy for top lineman. *Luke Joeckel from Texas A&M haha. The announcer for the award messed it up horribly.

sawemoff
Manti Te'o won the Maxwell Award for the nation's most outstanding player, the Walter Camp national player of the year award, and the Bednarik Award, given to the most outstanding defensive player. Te'o beat out the other Walter Camp finalists, Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein, USC receiver Marqise Lee and Oregon running back Kenjon Barner. He is the third defensive player to win and fourth Notre Dame player to be selected. Te'o also beat out Manziel and Klein for the Maxwell Award. The same three players are up for the Heisman Trophy, to be presented Saturday. Te'o's awards are the fourth, fifth and sixth national awards he has received since the end of the regular season. He already has won the Butkus Award, Bronko Nagurski Trophy and Lombardi Award. So...is Manziel going to get snubbed?
Valhalla
After seeing the results tonight I think Teo might actually pull out the Heisman.

h-town12
stiffarmtrophy.com shows Manziel with a pretty solid lead. This site tracks votes from people all over the country and has predicted the last ten winners. Manti is winning awards because he plays for ND. I still think Jarvis Jones is a better LB than him, and Clowney is the best defender in the country.

I was just surprised he didn't snag at least one of those awards. I really don't want T'eo to win. His only hope is if the oldies voting are too afraid to break tradition. Even then, I'd go with Klein over T'eo.
Valhalla
only 2 of the last 12 maxwell winners won the Heisman. Yeah, but he is only the 3rd defensive player to win the Maxwell award. If a defender breaks the Heisman barrier there is a good chance for him because he is the best player on an undefeated Notre Dame team.
Lhornfan
Well Colt won the Maxwell, Walter Camp and Davey O'Obrien awards in 2009, but he didn't get the Heismen. I think Manziel has it wrapped up, but I'm pulling for T'eo. Being a Catholic boy, I pull for the Irish when I can. And I agree that Jarvis Jones and Clowey are great players, but they're both rush specialist. Jones just does it standing up. Do you realize if you took away Jones' sacks, he only had 36 tackles? Clowey only has 23 tackles when you take away his 13 sacks. Don't misunderstand me, 12.5 and 13 sacks is really good, but these guys pin their ears back and come off the edge. Both should have successful NFL careers. T'eo plays in the middle, reads blocks, sheds blocks, drops in coverage, and whatever else he is asked to do. What he isn't asked to do very often is to blitz because he does so well in open space.

TSU1995
I do not understand all this hype about T'eo. He is ranked 51st nationally in tackles? seriously? He has 7 interceptions okay but he does not even have any forced fumbles. Not taking anthing away from him but he does not deserve it over manziel. Lhornfan
Was T'eo trying to fit in with the Catholics by wearing those big rosary beads he had on at the ceremony? Those weren't rosary beads. They were ninja beads. Properly trained, ninja beads are just a small step down on the weapon chart from nunchucks. Don't ask me how I know this, or I will have to pay you a visit... when you least expect it of course.

He will be a top 10 pick in the NFL draft. Not many ILB's get picked that high. Could be as good as Patrick Willis and Ray Lewis.
