  1. Mart. I don't care who wins I just want to see a good game but given that Mart has outscored its last three opponents by 117 points (#7 Grapeland, Muenster, and #1 Falls City), I don't think Hamlin will be within four scores of them.
  2. Duncanville must feel a bit snakebit these last two years. Losing on the hail mary and now losing their starting QB. Hoping Duncanville wins.
  3. Pottsboro sure does know how to live on the edge in these games. Anyone question the playcall? I wasn't listening or watching the game but from reading the comments about Pottsboro not stopping Brock's running game, does anyone think Brock could have made it over 3rd and 4th downs?
  4. So I checked. Seven repeats and five reversals. Repeats: 2AD1 Region 3, 3AD2 Region 2 & 4, 4AD1 Region 4, 4AD2 Region 2, 5AD1 Region 1, 5AD2 Region 1. Reversals: 3AD1 Region 1, 3AD2 Region 3, 4AD2 Region 3 & 4, 5AD2 Region 3.
  5. Maybe Katy Taylor. According to High School Scoreboard live, they finished 4th in district with a 5-5 record and now in semi-finals of 6AD2. Of course, the fourth place finish includes Division 1 and 2 schools.
  6. Humble Atascocita scored 49 and still lost by four touchdowns - 76-49. Duncanville beat SLC 49-35 so plays winner of Rockwall/Prosper. Right now it looks like North Shore will play Lake Travis.
  7. My opinion is a rematch of last year - Duncanville vs. North Shore. I think the winner of SLC/Duncanville plays North Shore for the championship.
  8. Just a WAG but I'll go with Brock, Gladewater, Grandview, and Hallettsville.
  9. Agree. And I forgot one. 4AD1 - Region 4 So if I've counted right then there are eight 1 vs. 2 with the remaining four being 1 vs. 3 seeds. Other oddities I noticed when looking at this, in 5AD1 Region 1, three of the four teams in the regional semifinals were from the same district. In 5AD2 Region 1, all four teams in the regional semifinals were from the same district.
  10. I noticed that too and it got me to wondering about the other classifications/regions. Lots of rematches. 2AD1 - Region 3 3AD1 - Region 1 4AD2 - Regions 2,3,4 5AD1 - Region 1 5AD2 - Regions 1,3 Including 3AD2, a total of 11 rematches for a regional championship.
  11. So the fourth place team from District 11 (Manor) in Class 5A Division 1 has now made it to the fourth round of the playoffs. They beat the sixth ranked team (Cedar Park) in Dave Campbell's final poll. Final was 17-14. So that is two district champs and a district runner-up they've beaten so far.
  12. I can vouch for that. Ate there many times while growing up in Honey Grove. Was my dad's favorite place to eat.
  13. I hope you're right about HG, PatsFan. I've haven't seen them play in decades. However, I try to follow how they are doing. I've seen years where they go undefeated through the regular season then lose in the first round. Happened too many times. I'd love to see them make a deep run in the playoffs. Maybe I will have a chance to watch them if they do. Will be rooting for all the teams in that area during the playoffs.
  14. Cooper vs. Henrietta 2013. I believe the game was played in Denton. Temp in the 20s, windy, and then started to rain. Left early in the 3rd quarter as Cooper was blowing them out.
  15. Now I see on High School Scoreboard Live that City View won 27-24. Does anyone know the correct score?
  16. Score I saw on my app was Melissa - 22, Celina - 17 at the start of the 4th. Anybody with an update?
  17. Score I saw on Football Friday app was CV 27 - Gunter 17 with 1:52 left in 3rd quarter.
  18. I saw this on Facebook. Several East Texas Schools are in the list. Here is the link but be warned you'll have to click 'Next' to go through it and see the descriptions. I was able to view as one page on Facebook. https://www.stadiumtalk.com/s/high-schools-that-produce-most-nfl-players-8f58a46f3f1a4c1a?utm_campaign=highschoolsnfl-bc100afc4e9a4149&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=fac&utm_content=328561 If your only interested in what Texas schools are on it, they are: #33 (Tie) - Temple 19 players #25 (Tie) - Jack Yates 21 players #22 (Tie) - Longview 22 players #22 (Tie) - Waco 22 players #17 (Tie) - John Tyler 23 players #14 (Tie) - Galveston Ball 24 players #14 (Tie) - South Oak Cliff 24 players And #1 is Long Beach Poly with 58 players. A picture from the article.
  19. Be nice if we knew the sizes of the schools so we could try to compare them. On a different note, if you click the other link in the article, they have Longview ranked #41 in the final poll.
  20. I thought the same thing. During the first half, they hurt Duncanville with the pass. Yet for the start of the second half, they attempted to run the ball and were ineffective. I think they threw a couple of short passes and wide receiver screens. They didn't really go back to the passing game they displayed in the first half until they fell behind.
  21. That is why I liked the Longview band. They actually marched. Someone remembered the name - The XXXXX Marching Band.
  22. I only get to see teams during the state championships so Galena Park North Shore, Duncanville, Longview, Beaumont West Brook, Alvin Shadow Creek, Fort Bend Marshall, Cuero, Waco La Vega, Liberty Hill, Grandview, Malakoff, and New Deal.
