Their only chance is Whitehouse beating Marshall, PT upsetting TH and them beating Hallsville. PT almost pulled it out last year and obviously found an offense this week. They will face off on Friday in the season finale to determine the district champion. Terrell and Poteet will face off Saturday in a game delayed due to weather. Terrell is favored and should win. That will put them at (3-3) and in a three way tie for third place in the district race. In finale week... Denison will face Poteet, Crandall will face Princeton, and Terrell will face Greenville. All three will be favored and SHOULD finish in a three way tie for third at (4-3). Head to head games between the three would create this tie breaker: Denison +14 Terrell +2 Crandall -16 If Denison and Terell win....they are both in; Denison as the #3 and Terrell as the #4. The third quarter was about the best Texas High has looked on offense all season. Overall the offense is a little less consistent than I would like for it to be, but even when they are not in peak form, they have several weapons on offense that can pop one for a quick TD. #1, #3, #4, #13 and others are dangerous. Defense can look great for stretches, and then let a receiver go uncovered for no apparent reason, or let a back take a quick toss and turn it up the sideline for 50 yards. T High played a pretty clean game for the most part last night. I still think they have to take it one game at time going forward….the 3 sophomores in the secondary have gotten better each week but a team that throws the ball a lot could still hurt them if they aren’t ready to play. #5 for Whitehouse was a good player, he was able to get open on a few plays and kept them in the game in the first half. Unless some weird things happen next week… Pine Tree will likely take the Melissa/Lovejoy winner and Marshall would get the Melissa/Lovejoy loser. BUT…. If Marshall upsets Whitehouse they could snatch the # 2 seed and get the home playoff game and Whitehouse would have to go on the road. If PT upsets THS we got a potential mess.
