When Biden was elected exonmobile was 40 dollars a share.  Now it is around 111 dollars a share.   I wonder how that happened.  Price gouging maybe🤔

Well, considering that oil & gasoline are, I believe, sold on the futures market, I'd say there's a lot of market forces at work. Not every price increase is "gouging".

Just out of curiosity, how much power do you think a president has over the price of gas?

I don't know how much power a president has, but since the last election in my town....gas was $1.49 a gallon the day he was elected, today, when I need to get gas again, it is $3.40 a gallon.....while he doesn't control everything, his policies cause problems. Such as a country that has gone from energy INDEPENDENT, to a country DEPENDENT upon foreign oil AGAIN.......And then the policy of holding up oil leases, price gouging (because NO ONE investigates), and somebody farting in the Middle East have skyrocketed prices again. But then again, there is NO INFLATION.....SMH

Usually not much. Prices are usually a supply/demand thing and speculated in the futures commodities market. That said, when you have someone who shuts down pipelines and makes it harder for us to get oil to refine into gasoline (or have gasoline shipped in), and the price of transporting and refining said oil is higher, what do you think happens?

Your trying to explain something to a foolish nonsensical person who just takes contrarian views and arguments to feel good about themselves….he’s clueless to supply and demand….he only knows if he runs out of pencils that he can get more at Wally World…..

They have a lot of power that they can wield to bring prices down.  Biden is at war with fossil fuels and you know it.  He's also still at war with Russia which the U.S. has no business being involved in.  He could have allowed for the Keystone Pipeline to be built which would have made the transportation of oil far safer and less expensive.  He could allow American Companies to continue their leases instead of rescinding them.  You're blind if you don't see Biden as the problem.  This is just going to place more pressure on a shrinking Middle Class and the Lower Class.  Inflation will rise again, because of the cost of transportation for all goods.  Instead, you'll say the President doesn't have any control of gas prices.  Hog Wash.

A lot when he shuts down pipelines, prevents drilling, withholds permits and does everything he can to decrease oil production ....

@PepeSilvia You don't think his insane fossil fuel energy policies have caused gas prices to rise? ... just curious

The Biden Administration has approved almost 50% more drilling permits than Trump did. In addition we produced more than anyone else in the world EVER in one year in 2023.

This has already been debunked on here numerous times .... most of the approved permits are in areas that have proven to be marginal or low production areas .... they have blocked permits for the more productive areas .... and they have stopped pipeline that would increase distribution long term .... it's laughable you put out this garbage 🗑 that is so easily debunked .....

Are you denying the production numbers? Your blind hostility makes you goofy.

That's an interesting take to have on things especially since we have increased our oil production to the highest levels that they've ever been under Biden.
