Now this has to be extremely embarrassing.

Spring Game in the books. My overall assessment, they look VERY good! Players and units that stood out to me the most... Arch Manning. For all of those that have doubted this kid, he was not the #1 QB for name alone. This kid is special. Trey Owens. My goodness, this kid was very impressive. True Freshman QB and he looked every part of a 2 year starter. I hope Texas can hang onto this kid. Colton Vasek. This kid is about to wreak havoc. His name was being called nearly every play; blowing up runs in the backfield, getting pressure on the QB. That kids talent level and motor is incredible. OL as a whole was very impressive. Colin Simmons. He'll get snaps this season, but this kid showed the talent to be 3 and gone. RB and WR. 27 different players caught a pass. 7 different players carried the ball. Ryan Wingo, DeAndre Moore, Isaiah Bond, they showed out. Wingo and Moore showed tons of speed. Bond showed the ability to go up and grab like AD did last season. All in all, this was by far the most impressive spring game I've seen from them in years.

Sabine quarterback Colt Sparks committed to Texas Tech today. He will play tight end for them.

Did you help get the field and facilities ready? Did you donate time, equipment, or money? Are you volunteer coaching a team? More than one team? Do you serve on the AYBSA board? Take a look through this post on Facebook and you will see TRUE LOVERS OF ALL THINGS ALTO. You might recognize faces of those who CAN answer YES to those questions above, some current and past school board trustees. How many communities our size even still have their own local leagues played on the very fields their parents, grandparents, and even great grandparents played on? Most towns pick up/play in a larger town nearby. Not us. These folks have carried on the tradition of years past and I applaud every single one of them. First off, this is not “fine and dandy.” Losing at Alto is not, nor has it ever been, “fine and dandy.” You are comparing apples and oranges. You obviously have an axe to grind and it shows because of what you feel are wrongdoings. Decisions are never easy nor taken lightly. Never have been. People do what they have to do with the information they have at the time. Period. I am not here to debate why those decisions were made. We have an excellent admin, coaching staff, and team at Alto. This was the worst football season in 47 years and we acknowledge that. But tearing down what these folks are doing for the sake of a vendetta makes no sense. Our people are working hard and just watch, success is on the horizon. It already started with the winning of ALL BOYS DISTRICT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIPS AT EVERY LEVEL, Middle School girls track champs, varsity girls second with all relays advancing to area, Runner up District UIL Academic Championship, and so much more. Middle School champs in football, boys basketball, and boys track. Our girls program is making leaps and bounds with the middle school winning basketball, softball, volleyball as well as track. Get out of the past and contribute to THE NOW. We are heading in the right direction.

1-I totally get that. I was just trying to say that too often coaches get hamstrung because of crap like that. 2-not naming names. 3-I agree 100%. If Saben were a heart surgeon I would want him every time. I guess my point is this, and I absolutely have no dog in this fight, HS hired a first time HFC. In less than a year they are, or someone, seems VERY UPSET. What happened to hiring someone, especially a rookie, and giving them time to grow into the role?

I get it. I just don't think the draft has been our downfall, however. Sure, we've made some boneheaded, bad draft picks...such as taking Taco over TJ Watt, or drafting Mazi Smith last year...but everyone does. Atlanta signed a QB to a 4 year $180M deal, then traded up to draft a QB at 8 last night. The one thing other teams do that Dallas doesn't, however, is hire a real GM. THAT is our downfall.

They took one of the top OT’s on the board, which was also a major position of need. He was also a player most had connected to Dallas, which means they still got the guy they wanted AND an extra 3rd round pick. I’d say they had a good night.

Hard work, discipline, mental and physical toughness, selflessness and doing the little things right are more important than any offense or defense you run. Whoever does those things whatever they choose to run will work.

Do we stop at gun crimes? If my kid gets a minor in possession, do I get a separate fine? If my kid gets in a fight at school, do I go to jail? I agree that the parents should have done more, but to make them criminally liable for murders they did not commit is idiotic at best, and down right evil at worst.

That is most places now. People are focused on results and do not understand that there is a process to success. There is no way around it. It takes what it takes (to quote the title of a book). You can't shortcut hard work and in today's society we often don't understand that. You are 100% correct that we expect instant gratification. From social media, to Amazon, to Door Dash. Anything can be had in an instant....except for the results that come from hard work.

I am going to have to agree with this. When did "personal responsibility" become "bad".......Were they bad parents, possibly, should they have locked up their guns, yes. Do you really know if your child is having mental problems or if they are going through a teenage phase of different behaviors......I saw my daughters go through all types of phases while they were teenagers. The best I could do was talk to them, love them, but I still had to let them make their choices, good or bad.......And if they had done something "lawbreaking" I could go to jail for them......This is what is happening because we DON'T punish the REAL CRIMINALS in our country.....weak bails, no deportations......all leads to lawyers going after everyone, but those intent on doing "bad things" to others......SMH

Also take into consideration the assistants he brought in, the prolly have no standing and can be let go without cause. They came in to this situation with their families and now are prolly looking again. Not a fun thing to have to do. As far as head coach maybe community looks at those who hired the man and how they went about it. Administration brought him to board to be hired did they give him full control or did they tie his hands. Hughes Springs used to have a school district that kids wanted to join and be a part of now it seems only the softball team is doing well. Just saying.

What is Biden's solution? Give away money to people who take out irresponsible loans? Invest hundreds of Billions into Green Energy? Send hundreds of billions to Ukraine and Israel to destroy things? All of these things, plus pandemic policies that he supported led to this inflation.

In a true free-market economy, greedflation is kept in check by competition. There is always someone who will sell their product for cheaper, and will force others to come down close to that level to remain competitive. We have not been a true free-market economy for many years. Our government, especially when run by democrats, has meddled in business too much, and do not allow for true capitalism. Remember what they did in 2020. They shut down your mom and pop stores and allowed the big box stores to stay open. They eliminated competition, which lead to these larger corporations being able to gain more of a hold over the market. The government's job is to make sure that companies don't hold a monopoly over business. But they have their fingers in too many areas of our economy. As with many other things, they have overstepped their boundaries in the market. I will 100% agree that this is not solely on the Biden administration, as the federal government has been doing this to us for a century.

Lot of half truths and outright lies, especially about the jobs numbers ... the vast majority of the jobs he is claiming to have created had nothing to do with any of his policies, they were China Virus rehires and government jobs that produce nothing for the economy ... the inflation reduction act is a joke as inflation has done nothing but skyrocket until recently and prices have not come down .... groceries, gas, building materials, everything is higher now because of his inflation ... yet he is proud of the act that did exactly the opposite of it's title, like all dimturd acts ... most of the rest of this garbage stuff listed has had a negative effect on our economy and society as a whole .... the Misery Index has skyrocketed under Plugs ....
