Not a bad game either, but the '15 game featured a 25 point comeback and a batted-down last-second 2 pt conversion by a star RB to save the win.

And the 16 game featured a OT 30 yd game winning fg in a driving rain storm!

By the same kicker who the year before as a freshman had missed 5 XPs while nursing a pulled hammy.

It was a redemption for him and the team and to do it in front of the NFL network made it even better.

That young man who is one of the best you ever meet had another memorable moment as a SR in 2018

He intercepted Jentsch pass on the first drive of the 2018 State title game could have been a difference in the game?

The play was reviewed this was the first year of instant replay in the title games and the int was overturned. I believe that is the first overturned call in state game history?

He is now an Asst Coach at Malakoff

During Yoe's state title spree, seemed like every season our playoff runs ran through Teague, Grandview, and Malakoff. Our playoff game against the Tigers in '15 is a freakin' epic.

Grandview made it to Arlington soon after and Jentsch led them to back-to-back titles. Now Malakoff finally has punched their ticket to Jerryworld. Best of luck next Thursday, Tigers. Coach Fannin has truly turned the Franklin Lions into a machine. Dominating ground game-focused team that had one player score three receiving TDs tonight. And a stifling defense. But you guys proved definitively that you're the team to get the job done this year, if it's to get done.

Thursday at 3p there is going to be one heck of a football game at AT&T Stadium, one of the best that field is going to see all year.

Those battles between Yoe,Teague, Malakoff, Grandview and Franklin were epic no doubt. When Franklin turned the program over to Coach Fannin, he took them to another level. To me the key to this game will be can Malakoff D stay disciplined and play assignment football. There is no doubt about their athleticism and speed but ….. Again turnovers will be a key as well but to me the key matchup is Franklin O vs Malakoff D.

Always gotta have luck in the playoffs lol

My heart is with Koff. But I fear Franklin is gonna be too tough. I sure hope I’m wrong. My family went to Church in Malakoff for several years when we lived in Athens, and I sure became fond of those boys. I enjoyed the rivalry between them and Teague for years.

no it is not man I usually agree with you on a lot of stuff but you are not right......I ran the wing T/slot T in high school against Franklin an fannin may run a different version of the wing t/slot t but in principle it is the same offense just ask him.

lineman still block down and guards pull. Ive even seen teams pull the center and we did to mix it up.

Yall run traps and what we called r jack and L jack

Still run the boots and wiggles with lowery

the arrow and zorro with the z back getting sweeps.

cross blocks ect.

So it may not be your fathers fathers wing t/slot t/ veer but the foundation of Franlins offense is much so

We ran the wing T here at CC for years ! Won 2 rings running it ..  ever since they swapped to that crappy pro style spread mess in 2020 , it’s went down hill …. I miss the wing T bad ….

we ran mostly tunnel sweeps .. blast .. belly .. trap..  and my favorite… scat pitch !   With the occasional play action pass to the tight end in the flat 😂 he would be wide open just about every time

Yes, it's gonna be a tough game but I believe this team has what it takes.

Man that rivalry was big for a few years between 14-18, it's died down, imo, but it may start back up again as Teague is starting to get things right.

The only way this stays close is if Koff's defense scores 21 points like they did to beat Brock...Franklin by two touchdowns.

I don’t think Franklins D is as good as Brock but I could be wrong. I think our offense will click a little better.

IF Malakoff's defensive front can force Franklin into 3rd and longs, then this game will be tight. Forcing Franklin to throw more will be in Malakoff's favor.  Also getting stops on 3rd/4th and short.  The more opportunities Malakoff has offensively, the closer this game becomes. I also believe the Brock defense will prove to be better than Franklin's.
